No.CIM.1215/C.R.88/Acts.—Whereas, the Government of Maharashtra has, in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1), (2) and (3) of section 5 of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners’ Act, 1961 (Mah. XXVIII of 1961) (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), vide the Government Notification, Medical Education and Drugs Department No. CIM.1587/C.R. 86/87/Act, dated the 11th January 2000, constituted the Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”), for a period of five years from the date of issue of the said notification ; And Whereas, the Government of Maharashtra has, vide the Government Notification, Medical Education and Drugs Department, No. CIM.2004/ 944/ C.R.263/ 04/ Act, dated the 23rd March 2005, appointed an Administrative Board to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the Council for a period of one year or till the new Council is duly constituted, whichever is earlier ; And Whereas, after the election and nominations of members and elections of President and Vice-President, the Government of Maharashtra has, vide the Government Notification, Medical Education and Drugs Department, No. MCI. 2006/ 318/ C.R.144/ 06/ Act, dated the 5th July 2007, reconstituted and published the names of the President, Vice-President and the members of the said Council ; And Whereas, the Government of Maharashtra has, vide the Government Notification, Medical Education and Drugs Department, No. MCI. 1712/C.R.150/Act, dated the 19th October 2012, after the expiry of the term of the President, Vice-President and members of the said Council, appointed an Administrative Board to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the Council for a period of one year or till the new Council is duly constituted ; And Whereas, the Government of Maharashtra has, vide the Government Notification, Medical Education and Drugs Department, No. MCI. 1712/C.R. 150/Act, dated the 21st January 2015, appointed an Administrator to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the Council for a period which should not exceed two years ; And Whereas, the elections to the said Council have been conducted and the Returning Officer has informed the result of the election to the State Government; and the Government of Maharashtra has, vide the Government Notification, Medical Education and Drugs Department, No. CIM.1215/C.R.88/Acts, dated the 20th January 2016 in pursuance of clause (b) of sub-rule (1) of rule 14 of the Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine (Elections) Rules, 1967, published the result of elections and vide the Government Notification, Medical Education and Drugs Department, No. CIM-1215/C.R.88/Acts, dated the 20th January 2016, published the names of the members nominated on the said Council ; And Whereas, the members of the said Council have elected the President and Vice-President of the said Council, and it is necessary to constitute a new Council as envisaged by sub-section (1) of section 32 of the said Act.
