STATE AMENDMENT
Orissa
Amendment of section 2 of Act (7 of 1870).--For section 2 of the Court Fees Act, 1870, hereinafter called the principal Act, the following section shall be substituted:--
"2. Definition.--In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,--
(1) 'appeal' includes a cross objection;
(2) 'suit' includes an appeal from a decree except in section 8-A."

A section defining Chief Controlling Revenue-authority was added by s. 2 of the Court-fees (Amendment) Act, 1901 (10 of 1901), and was slightly amended by the Repealing and Amending Act, 1917 (24 of 1917).
