(7) A tenant may deposit with the prescribed authority any rent payable by him to the landlord, along with an application in such form as may be prescribed,
(2) On receipt of an application under sub-section (1), the prescribed authority shall cause notice of every deposit to be issued to the landlord and after making such inquiry as it may deem fit, determine whether the amount represents the correct amount of the rent due and if such authority finds that any further sum is due, it shall allow the tenant such time not exceeding three months as it may deem fit for depositing the balance together with such costs of the proceedings as such authority may order and if it finds that no further amoiint is due, or if the tenant deposits within the time allowed such further sum as is ordered by such authority, the tenant shall be deemed to have paid rent within the period specified in sub-clause (d) of clause (1) of section 38.
