Section 20: Register of proceedings

The Panchayat Secretary shall maintain a register of proceedings. A record of the proceedings of every meeting of the Gram Sabha shall be kept in any of the following languages namely: Hindi, English or Gujarati in a bound book and a copy of the proceedings shall be sent within seven days of the meeting to the Block Development Officer and Collector of the District. The proceedings shall be signed by the Sarpanch or the person presiding over the meeting and countersigned by the Panchayat Secretary. The proceedings shall be open for the inspection, at all reasonable working times, by any member of the Gram Panchayat and members of Gram Sabha.

21. The Block Development Officer and Collector of the District shall keep upto date record of such proceedings in their offices for every Gram Sabha in their jurisdictions.
