Section 19: Maternity leave

The Goa, Daman and Diu Shops and Establishments Act, 1973Union territory Act of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu · Act 13 of 1974

Every woman who has been for a period of not less than six months preceding the date of her delivery, in continuous employment of the same Manual of Goa Laws (Vol. IV) –488– Shops and Establishments Act employer whether in the same or different shops or commercial establishments, shall be entitled to receive from her employer for the period of—

(a) six weeks leave immediately preceding the day of delivery; and

(b) six weeks leave following the day of delivery.
