Section 6: Power of Government to direct performance by Government of any function devolving on Local:' authorities

The· Government may, by notification, di.nict that in respect of any function to. be performed by a local authority under this Act and specified in the notification, the Govern­ ment, and not the local authority, shall be the ~ocal authority in all or aIiy areas which are com­ prised within the jurisdiction of such a local authority. .

7. Powers of Director t6 rooommend measures for improvement of Public Health. ~ The Director may, from time to time as' occasion requires, recommend for adoption, by any local authority, such measures as may be necessary for Improving .the public health .
