(1) An official appointed to be a member of the State Transport Authority shall continue unless otherwise ordered by the state Government for a period of one year and thereafter until a successor is appointed. A non-official member of the State Transport Authority shall hold office for period of one year and thereafter until a successor is appointed provided that the State Government may at any time remove any non-official member:
Provided further that when any non-official member dies or is removed or vacates office, his successors shall hold office for the remainder of the term of office of the member in whose place he is nominated and thereafter until a successor is appointed.
(2)A non-official member of the State Transport Authority shall be entitled to receive a fee of rupee 28 [one hundred] for every day on which he attends a meeting of the authority and any such member performing any journey under the orders of the Chairman in connection with the business of the Authority, other than journey to attend a meeting of the authority shall be entitles to receive traveling and halting allowances at the scale and on the conditions admissible to a Central Government servant of the first Grade, ‘A’ service.
