Section 2: Amendment of section 2, Act XIX of 1952

Employees Provident Funds (Amendment) Ordinance, 1953Ordinance · 1953

In section 2 of the Employees' Provident Funds Act, 1952 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), after clause (i), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: — "(ia) 'manufacture' means making, altering, ornamenting, finishing or otherwise treating or adapting any article or substance with a view to its use, sale, transport, delivery or disposal;".

3. Amendment of section 5, Act XIX oi 1952. Section 5 of the principal Act shall be renumbered as sub-section (1) thereof and.

after sub-section (1) as so renumbered, the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely: — "(2) A Scheme framed under sub-section (1) may provide that any of its provisions shall take effect either prospectively or retrospectively with effect from such date as may be specified in this behalf in the Scheme."
