The Presiding Officer of a Tribunal, its officers and other employees, the authorities referred to in section 7A and every Inspector shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code.]
4 [19. Delegation of powers.—The appropriate Government may direct that any power or authority or or jurisdiction exercisable by it under this Act 5 [, the Scheme 6 [, the 2 [Pension] Scheme or the Insurance Scheme]] shall, in relation to such matters and subject to such conditions, if any, as may be specified in the direction, be exercisable also—
(a) where the appropriate Government is the Central Government, by such officer or authority subordinate to the Central Government or by the State Government or by such officer or authority subordinate to the State Government, as may be specified in the notification; and
(b) where the appropriate Government is a State Government, by such officer or authority subordinate to the State Government as may be specified in the notification.]
7 [20. Power of Central Government to give directions.—The Central Government may, from time to time, give such directions to the Central Board as it may think fit for the efficient administration of this Act and when any such direction is given, the Central Board shall comply with such direction.
