- ' • / _ - ANKEXURE The Bombay R e l i e f Under tak ings (Spec ia l P r o v i s i o n s Act, 1958g as extended to the Union t e r r i t o r y of Delhi , (Bombay Act 96 of 1958) An Act t o make temporary provisions for i n d u s t r i a l r e l a t i o n s and other matters to enable the Sta te Government to conduct, or to provide loan , gurantee or f inanc ia l assistance for the cona.net of," ce r ta in i n d u s t r i a l undertakings as a measure of preventing unemployment or of unemployment r e l i e f . -\ WHEREAS i t i s expedient to make temporary provis ions for i n d u s t r i a l r e l a t i o n s and other mat ters to enable the S ta te Government to conduct, or to provide loan , guarantee or f inancial ass i s tance for the conduct of, c e r t a in " indus t r i a l undertakings as a/measure of preventing unemployment or of unemployment r e l i e f ; I t i s hereby enacted in the Ninth Year of the Republic of Ind ia as fo l lows: - 1 . (1) This Act may be cal led the Bombay Relief Undertakings (Special Provisions) Act t 1958„
(2) I t extends to the whole of the Union t e r r i t o r y of Delhi , the context 2, i n t h i s Act, unless/otherwise r e q u i r e s , r
(1) " Admi n i st r at or" me an s t he Admi ni s t r at o r of the Union t e r r i t o r y of Delhi appointed by the President under a r t i c l e 239 of the Const i tu t ion!
(1A) "industry" means any bus iness , t r a d e , under taking^ manufacture or ca l l ing of employers and includes any c a l l i n g , s e rv ice , employment, handicraft or i n d u s t r i a l occupation or vocat ion of .workmen--.. and the word " i n d u s t r i a l " . sha l l be ' construed accordingly,
(2) ' ' r e l i e f undertaking1? means an i n d u s t r i a l undertaking i n respect of which a d"aclr.ration .under section 3 i s i n fo rce , http://cona.net Declarat ion - of r e l i e f •undertaking .

(2) A n o t i f i c a t i o n under sub-sect! on (i) sha l l have effect for such period not exceeding twelve months as may be specified i n the n o t i f i - ~ ca t ion ; but i t sha l l be renewable by l i k e n o t i f i cat ions from time to time for fur ther periods not exceeding twelve months at a t ime, so however t h a t a l l the -periods i n the aggregate do not exceed f i f teen y e a r s . ;
4 , ( l ) Notwithstanding any law, usage, sustom, con t rac t , ins t rument , decree, order , sward, sub mission, se t t lement , standing order or other provision whatsoever, the Skx Administrator1 may, by n o t i f i c a t i o n i n the Delhi Gazette.

(a) i n r e l a t i o n to any r e l i e f undertaking and i n respect of the period for which the r e l i e f undertaking continues as such under sub sect ion (2) of sect ion 3 - ( i ) a l l or any of the laws i n the Schedule t o t h i s Act or any provis ions thereof sha l l not apply and such r e l i e f undertaking sha l l be exempt therefrom, "or s h a l l , i f so di rected by the Administrator, be applied with such modif i ca t ions (which do not-however-.affect the po l icy of the said laws) as may be specified in the no t i f i c a t i on \ ( i i ) a l l or any of the agreements, s e t t l e ments, awards or standing orders made under any of the laws i n the Schedule to t h i s Act, which may be applicable t o the undertaking immediately before i t was acquired or taken over by the Government or before any loan, guarantee or other f inanc ia l ass is tance was provided t o i t by, or with the approval of, the Government, for being run as a r e l i e f undertaking, sha l l be suspended i n operat ion or s h a l l , i f so d i rec ted by the Administrator, be applied with such modifications as may be specified i n the n o t i f i c a t i o n ;
