z% MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 26th November I960 G S R 1419.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Union 'errito'ries (Laws) Act, 1950 (30 of 1950), the Central Government hereby extends o the Union territory of Manipur the Madras Cattle Disease Act, 1866, (Madras let II of 1866). subject to the following modifications, namely:— - , Modifications

1. Throughout the Act, unless otherwise directed by this notification,—

(a) for the words "State Government", the words "Chief Commissioner" shall be substituted;

(b) for the words "any district, or part of a district", the words "any part of the territory" shall be substituted;

(c) for the words "Magistrate of the district" the words "District Magis­ trate" shall be substituted;

(d) the words "or, in the City of Madras" and the words "the Commissioner of the Corporation" shall be omitted;

(e) for the words "Official Gazette", the words "Manipur Gazette" shall be substituted.

2. In section 1.—

(a) for the words "in such districts or parts of district/', the words "in such areas" shall be substituted;

(b) the words "or subject to their control, the Board of Revenue" shall be omitted.

3. In section 2, after the last sentence, the following shall be inserted, namely:— the word "territory" shall mean the "Union territory of Manipur";

the words "Chief Commissioner" shall mean the "Chief Commissioner of Manipur".

4. In section 3, the words "or Commissioner as the case may be" shall be mitted and for the words "by the Magistrate", the words "by the said Magistrate" hall be substituted.

5. In section 7, for the words "the range" in both the places where they occur.

he words "the area" shall be substituted.

6. In section 8, for the words "within his range", the words "within his urisdiction" shall be substituted.

7. In section 9, for the words "shall be borne by the cattle pound fund stablished under Act III of 1357", the words "shall be met from the Consolidated 'und of India" shall be substituted.

8. In section 10, for the words "cattle-pound fund", the words "'Consolidated 'und of India" shall be substituted,

9. In section 11, for the words "to be placed to the credit of the Cattle Pound 'und". the words "to be credited to the Consolidated Fund of India" shall be ubstituted.
