Section 7: Amendment of section 23, Act VII of 1947

In sub-section (3) of section 23 of the principal Act, after the words "or the Reserve Bank" the words "by a general or special order" shall be inserted.

554 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II 8L Insertion of new sections 23A and 23B In Act VH of 1947.—After section 23 of the principal Act, the following sections shall be inserted, namely:— "23A. Application of Sea Customs Act, 1878.—Without -prejudice to the provisions of section 23 or to any other provision contained in this Act, the restrictions imposed by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 8, sub-section (I) of section 12 and clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 13 shall be deemed to have been imposed under section 19 of the Sea Customs Act, 1878 (VIII of 1878), and all the provisions of that Act shall have effect accordingly, except that section 183 thereof shall have effect as if for the word 'shall' therein the word 'may' were substituted.
