2601 New Delhi, the 11th October, 1976 G.S.R. 1489.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 63 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (6 of 1974) the Central Government after consultation with the Central Board for the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, hereby makes the following rules, to amend the Central Board for the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution (Procedure for Transaction of Business) Rules, 1975, namely :—

1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Board for (he Prevention and Control of Water Pollution (Procedure for Transaction of Business) Amendment Rules, 1976.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Central Board for the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution (Procedure for Transaction of Business) Rules, 1975,—

(1) in rule 3,—•

(a) for sub-rule (6), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely :— "(6)(a) The Central Board may adjourn its meetings from day to day or to any particular date.

(b) Where a meeting of the Central Board is adjourned from day to day, notice of such adjourned meeting shall be given to the Members available in the city, town or other place where the meeting which is adjourned is held, either by telephone or by special messenger and it shall not bo neceesary to give notice of the adjourned meeting to other Members,

(c) Where a meeting of the Cential Board is adjourned not from day to day but from the day on which the meeting is held to another date, notice of such meeting shall be given to all the Members as provided in sub-rules (3) and (4).";

(b) sub-rule (7) shall be omitted;

(2) in rule 6, for sub-rule (5), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely :— "(5)(a) Where a meeting of the Central Board is adjourned under sub-rule (2) for want of quorum to the following day, notice of such adjourned meeting shall be given to the Members available in the city, town or other place where the meeting which is adjourned is held, either by telephone or by special messenger and it shall not be necessary to give notice of the adjourned meeting to other Members.

(b) Where a meeting of the Central Board is adjourned under sub-rule (2) for want of quorum not to the following day but to another date, notice of such adjourned meeting shall be given to all the Members as provided In sub-rale (3) and (4).".

[No. Q-15015/16/74-EPC] G.S.R. 1490.—In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (2) of section 3 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (6 of 1974), the Central Government hereby nominates Dr. P. N. Sehgal, Assistant Director General (Public Health) in the Directorate General of Health Seiv vices, Ministry of Health and Family Planning, New Delhi, as member of the Central Board for the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution constituted by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Works and Housing No. G. S. R. 398(E), dated the 21st September, 1974 vice Dr. Mahendra Dutta and directs that the following amendment shall be made in the said notification, namely :— In the said notification, for serial number 5 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be substituted, namely :— "5. Dr. P. N. Sehgal, MEMBER Assistant Director General (Public Health), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Planning, New Delhi.".
