(1)3014GI/93 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA: EX1RAORDINARY IPAIU J I - S E C . 3(1)] 3 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 31st December, 1993 G.S.R. 801 (E).—In Exercise of the powers confuied by Section 25 of the Env ru'iment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, namely :
1. (1) These rules may be called the Environment (Protection) Third Amendment Rules,
1993.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Li the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986,—•
(a) In rule 3, in sub-rule (3A), in clause (i)f for the words "industriaes, operations or processes shall", the words "industries, operations or processes other than those industries, operations or processes for which standards have been specified in Schedule I shall" shall be substituted.
(b) In Schedule I, after serial number 61 md the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be added, namely,—- SI.

(d) in Schedule VI in Part-A, —
(i) serial numbers 4, 24, 25, 26, 28, 31 and 40 and the entires relating thereto shall be omitted.
(ii) in item 10 for the word "NH3" the letter "N" shall be substituted;
(iii) in item 11 for the woid "NH3" the word "NHn" shall be substituted.
(iv) in item 12, for the word 'max1 the words ""rr\g|l max" shall be substituted.
(v) in item 14, for the word 'Mg' the word '111,$' shall be substituted.
(vi) in item 29, for the word 'Flouride' the word 'Flouride1 shall be substituted.
(vii) in item 33, for the words "(as C2H5OH)" the wordb 'L(as C,,Hr> OH)" shall be subst'tulcd;
(viii) under column 2 against serai number 34(a) and 34(b) for the words "Uc[ml" and "ucjml", the words "micro curie|ml" and "micro curie|ml" shall be substituted.
(ix) Under column (c) at serial number 34(a) for tht figure "10-7", the figure "10-B" shall be substituted.
(x) Under column (d) at serial number 34(b) for the figure "10-7", the figure "10-a" shall be' substituted.
(e) In Schedule VI, under Part -B, —
(i) against serial numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8t 10 and 11 for the word "ton", the word "tonne" shall be substituted;
(ii) in items Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4(a), 5(a), 5(b), 6(i&ii), 7. 8, 10 and 11 (,i&b), for flu" words "MB|ton" the words "m"! tonne" shall be substituted;
(iii) Against serial number 3 for the item
(a)(ii) and the entries relating thereto, the following items shall be substituted, namely .— "(ii) Viscose Staple Fibre ; 150 m3]tonne of product;
(iii) Viscose Filament Yarn : 500 m'| tonne o'f product";
(iv) in item 4(b), 4(c) and 9. tor the words "mBlKL" the words "m^KL" shall be substituted;

(f) In Schedule VT, under Part C —
(i) in lines 3 and 12 for the word "Kg" the word "kg" shall bs substituted.

(g) in Schedule VI under Item 1 of Part-D relating to concentration based standards, —
(i) against serial number I, for the words "Suspended Particulaite Matter (SPM)1', the words "Particulate Matter tPM)" shall be substituted;
(ii) against serial number 2, for the vwnd "Fluoride", the words "Total Fluoride" and for the figure "10", the figure "25" shall be substituted;
(iii) against serial number 3, lor the worJs and figure "4 Fibrejcc" the words and figure "4 Fibres|cc and dust should not be more than 2 mg|Nm1n' shall be substituted;
(iv) serial numbers 7, 10 and \2 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted;

(vi) against serial number 11, under the column 3, 'for the words and figures "20 mclNm'1", the words and figures "10 mg[Nm"" shall be substituted.
(h) in Schedule VI, under l'cm-Il of Part-D felating to equipment based standards, —
(i) for the words "Control of Sulphur dioxide emissions are achieved through dispersion. Minimum, stack height limit is accordingly prescribed as below", the words "For dispersal of sulphur dioxide, a minmum stack height limit js accordingly prescribed as below :" shall be substituted;
(ii) asainst serial number 1 for the word "meters" the word "metre" shall be substituted.

(1) in Schedule VI in Annexing TT,—
(i) for item 3, the following shall be substituted, namely : "In case of copper, lead and zinc smelting, (he off-gases- may, as far as possible, be nt liscci for manufacturing sulphuric aci.l".
(ii) At the end of Annexure II, the following shall be added, namely :
"4. In case of cupolas (Foundries) having capacity (melting rate) less than 3 tonne'hour. The participate matter em;ssions shall be within 450 mg[Nm\ In these cases it is essential that slack is constructed over the cupola beyond the charging door and the emissions arc diicctcd through the stack, which should be at least si\ times the diameter nf cupola. In respect of Arc Furnaces and Induction Furnaces, provision has to be made for collecting the fumes before discharging the emissions through the stack."
