Section 1: Short title, extent and commencement

The City of Panaji Corporation Act, 2002State Act of Goa · Act 1 of 2003

(1) This Act may be called as the City of Panaji Corporation Act, 2002.

(2) This Act shall apply to the areas specified in Schedule I of this Act:

Provided that the State Government may by notification declare that any area or any part thereof, not forming a part of the city of Panaji Corporation, to be a Panchayat area under the Panchayat Raj Act.

4 [(3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint in this behalf and different dates may be appointed for such or different areas of Schedule I, different Chapters or sections of this Act.]
