Section 8: Registration

The Goa Co-operative Societies Act, 2001State Act of Goa · Act 36 of 2001

(1) If the Registrar is satisfied that a proposed society has complied with the provisions of sections 5, 6 and 7 of this Act, and the rules made thereunder, he may register the society.

(2) Where the Registrar refuses to register a proposed society, he shall communicate his decision, with the reasons therefor, to the person making the application, within forty five days from the, date of receipt of the application.24[***]

(3) An appeal against the order of refusal of registration under sub-section (2) shall be filled before the co-operative tribunal within a period of sixty days from the date of such refusal 25[***].

(4) The Registrar shall maintain a register of all societies registered under this Act.
