Section 27: Classification of lands for raising different crops according to availability of water

Subject to such directions as may be issued from time to time by the Command Area Development Board, the Canal Officer may, in any year, having regard to the quantity of water available in any “irrigation” system within his jurisdiction, classify, by an order, within such time and in such manner as may be prescribed, lands under the said “irrigation” system for the purpose of raising such kind of crops on each class of land as may be specified in the order, and regulate the supply of water for “irrigation” accordingly:
Provided that on an application made to the Command Area Development Board the land-holder may be permitted to change the raising of kind of crops:
Provided further that no such change shall be allowed unless the application for such change relates to the entire holding of the land-holder under the said “irrigation” system.
