The Goa, Daman And Diu Villages Panchayats Regulation, 1962.Regulations · 1962

(i) After making such inquiry as he thinks necessary, the Lieutenant-Governor may, by notification, declare any local area, comprising a village or a group of villages or any part or parts thereof or a combination of any two or more of them, to be a village for the purposes of this Regulation.

(2) For every village, there shall be a Panchayat as from such date as the Lieutenant-Governor may, by notification, appoint.

4, As from the date appointed under section 3, all persons whose names are for the time being entered as electors in the electoral roll for a village shall be deemed to constitute the Gram Sabha for that village, Gram Sabha.
