Section 21: Regulation of water supply from canal

The Goa Irrigation Act, 1973State Act of Goa · Act 18 of 1973

The Canal-Officer by a notification in respect of any canal or class of canals may, after such inquiry as he deems fit, regulate in respect of any canal for each year or for a specified term of years at a time, as circumstances may require—

(1) the time for letting out water for irrigation;

(2) the period of supply;

(3) the quantity of supply; and

(4) the areas to be supplied at different times.

Explanation:— A land shall be deemed to have been supplied with water if water is made available for irrigation of such land.
