Section 42: Relinquishment

The Goa Land Revenue Code, 1968State Act of Goa · Act 9 of 1969

An occupant may relinquish his land, that is, resign in favour of the 69[***] Government, but subject to any rights, tenures, encumbrances or equities lawfully subsisting in favour of any person other than the 70[***] Government or the occupant, by giving notice in writing to the Mamlatdar not less than thirty days before the date of commencement of the agricultural year, and thereupon, he shall cease to be an occupant from the agricultural year next following such date:

Provided that no portion of land which is less in extent than a whole survey number of sub-division of a survey number may be relinquished.
