Section 7: Powers of Appellate Authority

The Goa (Right of Citizens to Time-Bound Delivery of Public Services) Act, 2013State Act of Goa · Act 19 of 2013

The Appellate Authority shall, whilst deciding an appeal under section 6 have the same powers as are vested in the Civil Court whilst trying a -4- Suit under the Code of Civil Procedure 1908 (Central Act of 1908), in respect of the following matters, viz.,—

(a) requiring the production and inspection of documents;

(b) issuing summons for a hearing to the designated officer and the appellant;

(c) requisitioning any public records or copies thereof from any government office;

(d) any other matter which may be prescribed;

(e) levy of fine/compensation of an amount not exceeding rupees five thousand upon the concerned designated official; and

(f) direct the designated officer to pay compensation not exceeding rupees three thousand five hundred to the eligible person.
