(1) If any difficulty arises in giving effect to any of the provisions of this Act, the Government may, by order not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, remove the difficulty:
Provided that no such order shall be made after the expiration of a period of two years from the date of commencement of this Act.
(2) Every order made under this section shall, as soon as may be after it is made, be laid before the Legislative Assembly of Goa.

1. The Government vide Notification No. Misc/1/2009-Per (Pt.)/2504 dated 18-9-2019 published in the Official Gazette Series-I No.24 (Extraordinary-5) dated 18-9-2019 appointed 18-9-2019 as the day this Act come into force.
2. Substituted in place of expression “engages during his term of office in any paid employment outside the duties of his office” vide the Goa Staff Selection Commission (Removal of Difficulties) Order, 2020; published in the Official Gazette Series I No.
44 dated 30-1-2020 and shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

4. Proviso inserted vide Amendment Act 33 of 2022, thereafter same is substituted vide Amendment Act 41 of 2023 ,Act 9 of 2024, and 17 of 2024 substituted proviso come into force at once.
