Section 244: Torn will found amidst the effects of the testator

Where the will is found to be torn or reduced to pieces amidst the effects of the testator, the will shall be deemed to be nonexistent, notwithstanding that it is possible to put the pieces together and read the disposition, unless it has already been proved that it was torn or reduced to pieces after the death of the testator or was caused by him when he was of unsound mind.
