Section 9: Registration of persons using weights or measures or weighing or measuring instruments in transactions for trade or commerce

The Goa Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1968State Act of Goa · Act 9 of 1968

(1) No person shall use any weight or measure or weighing or measuring instrument in any transaction for trade or commerce unless he registers himself within the prescribed period with the Controller and obtain from him a certificate in token thereof.

(2) Every application for registration under sub-section (1) shall be made to the Controller and shall contain such particulars as may be prescribed.

(3) If the Controller is satisfied that an application for registration is in order, he shall register the applicant and issue to the applicant a certificate of registration in the prescribed form.
