(1) Where, by this Ordinance, a power has been conferred on the Central Government or the Administrator to make any authorisation or exemption or to make any order, then, such power may be exercised by a general or special order.
(2) Where, by this Ordinance, a power has been conferred on the - Central Govermttent or Una Administrator to empower or authorise ' any officer, then, such officer may be empowered or authorised, as the case may be, by name or by virtue of office.
,Bepeal and savings,
117. (I) As from the commencement of this Ordinance, the provisions of Part XIIA of the Defence of India Rules, 1862, shall stand re-' pealed and upon such repeal, section 6 of the General Clauses Act, 1897, shall apply as if the said Part were a Central Act.10 of 1897.
(2) Notwithstanding the repeal made by sub-section (1), but without prejudice to the application of section 6 of the Ge'neial Clauses Act, 1897, any notification, order, direction, appointment or declaration made of any notice, licence or certificate issued or permission, authorisation or exemption granted or any confiscation adjudged or penalty or fine imposed or any forfeiture ordered or any other thing done or any other action taken under or in pursuance of the provisions of Part XIIA of the Defence of India Rules, 1962, so far as it is not inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance,'be deemed to have been made, issued, granted, adjudged, imposed, ordered/ done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Ordinary' 10 ol 1897
118. If any difficulty arises in giving effect to the provisions of this Ordinance, particularly in relation to the transition from Part XIIA of the Defence of India Rules, 1962, to the provisions of this remove "dlfflcultie*.

Provided that no such power shall be exercised after the expiry of a period of two years from the commencement of this Ordinance.
