Section 86: Films, Boxes, Spool, etc

(1) All cinematograph projectors shall be fitted with two film boxes of non­ inflammable material and of substantial construction to and from which the films shall be made to travel.

Such boxes shall be of approved size and construction shall be made to close in such manners as to prevent the ingress of fire and shall be fitted with a film slot so constructed as to prevent the passage of flame to the interior of the film box.

(2) Spools shall be either chain or gear driven and films shall be wound upon spools so that the wound film shall not at any time reach or project beyond the edges of the flags of the spools.

(3) It shall not be necessary to have metal casing for spools in case of projects or using films with acetate base •.
