The Gujarat Lifts and Escalators Act, 2000.State Act of Gujarat · Act 4 of 2000

(1) 1[The Chief Electrical Inspector appointed under the Electricity Act, 2003] may authorise a person for the purpose of carrying out erection, maintenance, inspection and test of lift or escalator.

(2) The manner, terms and conditions and the fees for authorisation under sub-section (1) shall be such as may be prescribed.

(3) No person shall be authorised under sub-section (1) unless he fulfils qualifications and such other requirements as may be prescribed.
