Section 1

The Gujarat Municipal Finance Board Act, 1979State Act of Gujarat · Act 12 of 1979

(1) This Act may be called the Gujarat Municipal Finance Board Act, 1979.

(2) This section shall come into force at once and the remaining provisions shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,—

(a) "Board" means the Gujarat Municipal Finance Board established under section 3;

(b)"Chairman" means the Chairman of the Board;

(c)"Fund" means the fund of the Board;

(d)"local authority" means a municipal corporation constituted under the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949 or a Municipality constituted or deemed to be constituted under the Gujarat Municipalities Act,

(e) "member" means a member of the Board;

(f) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act;

(g) "regulations" means regulations made under this Act;

(h) "rules" means rules made under this Act.
