The Gujarat Rents, Hotel and Lodging House Rates Control Act, 1947State Act of Gujarat · Act 57 of 1947

(1) A landlord shall also be entitled to make an increase in the rent of premises referred to in column 1 which were let on or before the first day of September, 1940, by an addition to the rent at the rates specified against them in cloumn 2 below :- 1 2

(1) Residential premises the rent of Not exceeding 5 per cent of which does not exceed Rs. 20 the standard rent.

Explanation.-For the purposes of sub-section (1), the expression "premises" shall have the same meaning as is assigned to it in sub-clause (b) of clause (8) of section 5.]
