Section 1 The Gujarat State Commission for Women Act, 2002 State Act of Gujarat · Act 12 of 2002
(1) This Act may be called the Gujarat State Commission for Women Act, 2002.
Short title, extent and commencement.
(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Gujarat.
(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 29th December, 2001.
2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— Definitions.
(a) "Commission" means the Gujarat State Commission for Women constituted under section 3;
(b) "member" means a member of the Commission and includes the Chairperson and the member-secretary;
(c) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules;
(d) "women" includes female-child and adolescent girl.
