The Gujarat Veterinary Practitioners Act 1969State Act of Gujarat · Act 15 of 1973

(1) Save as otherwise expressly provided in any special law for the time being in force, no person other than a veterinary practitioner whose name is entered in the register maintained under this Act, shall practise any veterinary science in the State :

Unregistered persons not to hold certain appointments.

Prohibition of veterinary practice by persons not registered.

The Gujarat Veterinary Practitioners Act 1969 14 of 21 Official Gazette, direct that, subject to such conditions as it may deem fit to impose and the payment of such fees as may be prescribed by rules, the provisions of this section shall not apply to any class of persons, or to any area, as may be specified in such notification.

(2) Any person who acts in contravention of the provisions of sub-section (1) shall, on conviction, be punished-

(i) for the first offence with fine which may extend to two hundered and fifty rupees; and

(ii) for the second or subsequent offence with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees.
