1. The University shall hold examinations for awarding Degrees, Diplomas or Certficates in such branches of knowledge as the university may determine from time to time.

2. The date of the commencement of the examinations a well as the last date of the receipt of examination forms and fees as fixed by the Vice- Chancellor shall be notified by the Registrar/ Controller of Examinationss to the University Teaching Departments, P.G.

Regional Centre, Rewari and to all the Colleges admitted to the privileges of this University.

3. Students shall not be eligible for admission to a course of study for an examination unless they have passed the qualifying examination of this University or any other examination recognised by this University as equivalent thereto, and possess such further qualifications, if any, as may be prescribed by the Ordinance.

4. Applications for admission to an examination shall be on the prescribed form accompained by the requisite fee so as to reach the University by the date fixed for the purpose.

5. Applications for admission to examinations shall be accomapnied by the following certificates signed by the authority in Clause -9 below :- a) of good character;

b) that the candidates is eligible to appear in the examination under the Ordinance prescribed for the examination concerned;

c) any other certificate(s) required under the Ordinances.

6. A candidate who has once submitted his/ her examination form for an examination alongwith the requisite fee, shall not be permitted to withdraw the application form on his/ her own accord and claim refund of the examination fee.

7. A candidate’s admission form and fee may be accepted after the last date with late fee as prescribed upto the date notified by the University.

Upto 30 days before the commencement of the Examintion (Subject to discretion of the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations) with late fee as prescribed by the Universitry. The period of 30 days is to be counted before the date and 2 commencement of the Examination given in the schedule of exam.

and postponement of exam., if any, will have no impact upon it.

Provided that no late fee shall be chraged if the admission form and fee are receivced within three working days of grace after the last date for the receipt of the same without late fee.

8. Subject to the condition that a candidate attends a minimum number of lectures and practicals, where such minimum has been fixed for an examination, the Principal of the Evening College may condone shortage upto 20% of lectures in each subject in all the undergraduate examinations.

9. A candidate shall submit his admission application to the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations on the prescribed form with the required certificates duly signed by :- i) Principal of the College Both in the case of students of the candidate has last a college admitted to the attended privileges of the University and ex- students.

ii) Head of the University Both for regular and ex- students teaching Department in the subject

Provided that in case of a college with more than 800 students on its rolls, the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations may authorise the Principal to delegate to a senior member of the teaching staff, the authority of sign, various certificates in the admission form :

iii) Principal of the College In the case of students of concerned a college permitted to send students privately.

iv) Any one of the following in the case of private candidates other than ex- students where the ordinance provides :- a) Head of the University Teaching Department;

OR b) Principal of College admitted to the Privileges of the University.

OR c) Head of a recognised Higher Secondary School;

OR d) District or Circle Education Officer;

OR 3 e) a Commanding Officer of his Unit in the case of a Military personnel;

OR f) Head of the University Library and a Central State Library, in the case of whole time Librarians and Library staff attended to them;

OR g) an officer not below the rank of an Assistant Registrar.

OR h) a member of the Court, Executive Council or Academic Council of the University;

OR i) any other person duly authorised by the Academic Council.

10. The Academic Council shall have power to exclude any candidate from examination permanently or for a specified period for reasons to be recorded, if it is satisfied that such a candidate is not a fit and proper person to be admitted to the examination.

11. If a candidate for any University Examination owes any money to the University or his college on any account and fails to pay the money or has in his possession any book, apparatus or other property belonging to the University or his college, or any kit etc., supplied by the N. C.C. and fails to return the same, the Registrar / Controller of Examination on receipt of such a report from the Principal of a College or the Head of a University Teaching Dept.

may withhold or authorise the withholding of the admission card of the candidate or if the admisson card has already been issued , suspend the order of admisison till all such money has been paid or such property has been returned by the candidate.

12. When the candidature of a candidate is to cancelled before his appearance in the examination on grounds of his being ineligible, the Assistant Registrar (results) concerned is authorised to pass orders.

13. The Registrar/ Controller of Examinations may withhold the permission granted to any candidate by some accidental mistake or omission who was not eligible to appear at any University Examination, even though an admission card had been issued and 4 produced byhim/ her before the Superintendent of the Examination Centre or he/ she may have appeared in one or more papers at the examination and to cancel the result.

14. a.) Where a candidate for an examination in which the number of chances available are limited, has missed one or more chances on account of illness, only one additional chance may be allowed if the candidate having submitted his admission form and fee, informs the Registrar/ Controller of Examination before the commencement of the University examination his inability to appear in the examination and also furnishes a Medical Certificates from a Government Doctor of gazetted rank or the Medical Officer of the University/ College.

b.) Where a candidate has exhausted all the chances to pass a particular class/ course and has been declared ineligible to pursue the said class/ course or where the maximum time period as prescribed in the relevant ordinance during which he is required to complete the degree/ diploma./ certificate has elapsed, he can avail three extra consecutive chances to complete the course on payment of examination fee as under :- i) Ist extra chance : Rs. 1500/- ii) 2nd extra chance : Rs. 2500/- iii) 3rd extra chance : Rs. 3500/-

Provided that the students appearing under this clause will have to take the examination as per the latest syllabus only. In case, a particular paper has ceased to exist in the scheme of examination, in that case the candidate shall have the option to take paper which has common course contents to the tune of 70-80% which shall be duly verified by the concerned Head of the Department.

The extra chances shall be allowed only to clear the relevant class/ semester which shall not entail fresh promotion to higher class/ semester. unless specifically provided in the relevant ordinance.

However, in case the student had already appeared in the higher class/ semester alongwith the lower class/ semester, such a student shall be allowed to retain the result of his/ her higher semester/ class and also to appear in such semester/ class if he / she had earned re- appear in the previous result.

5 These rules will not be applicable to MBBS/ BDS courses.

Note :

All such candidates who for one reason or the other have not been able to complete their courses so far shall also be granted such extra chances.

15. A candidate against whom there is a charge of unfair means and who, in the course of the enquiry, misses one or more chances of appearing in an examination, may be given by the Vice- Chancellor, additional chances if he is exonerated of the charge.

16. A candidate who has to reapear in subjects/ paper(s) shall have the option to appear in all the subjects/ papers. Having exercised the option, the candidate shall not be allowed to change it.

17. Unless otherwise provided a person who :

a) has already passed an examination of this or any other University shall not be permitted to re-appear in that examination or a corresponding examination.

b) is a candidate for an examintion in full subjects of this University can not simultaneously read for or appear at another examination of this University or another University/ Board. The bar shall not apply to a candidate appearing in an examination of the University for passing/ re-appear papers or for improvement of division/ result or for additional subject.

The bar shall also not apply to a candidate who has completed course of duration and the examination of that course is not held in time due to unavoidable reason.

Note : A student can study any of the job oriented course run through the Directorate of Distance Education alongwith any other Course.

18. Notwithstanding anything contained in any other Ordinance, the Academic Council shall, for reasons to be recorded, have power to admit a person provisionally to the next higher class pending his qualifying in the paper or papers which he may have missed though no fault of his.

19. A candidate whose result of the examination taken by him is notified as ‘later’ maybe allowed to join the next higher class provisonally.

In case he is ulimately declared as having failed, his provisional 6 admission shall stand cancelled and he shall forth with revert to the lower class. Fees paid by him for the higher class shall be adjusted against the lower class dues. No refund shall be admissible to the students who discontinues his studies his attendance for the higher class will be counted for the lower class.

20. Notwithstanding anything contained in any othetr Ordinance, the Academic Council in the case of :- a) A foreign scholar who is not of indian national: or b) a person who is not an Indian National ; or c) a person of Indian origin studying in a foreign country shall have power to admit him to any class of a college affiliated to this University for which he is considered fit on the recomnedations of the Equivalence Committee.

21. Notwithstainding anything contain in any other ordinance the Academic Council in order to avoid hardship to a candidate, shall have power to relax any requirement of the ordinance for any examination while considering the irregular admissions for regularisation where the mistake is primarily on the part of the Institution or the University Office. Each and every case of such nature will be considerd by the Academic Council on merit.

22. A prisoner serving a term of imprisonment may be allowed to appear in an examination if :- i) a certificate of good conduct is given by the Superintendent of the Jail concerned; and ii) he is eligible under the ordinances for the examination concerned;

Provided that if such an examination is arranged in jail, the expenditure involved shall be paid to the University by the candidates concerned by the jail authorities as the case may be.

23. The Students will have to submit the Dissertations/ Project Work/ Term Paper/ Training Report/ Field Trip report etc. within the period as prescribed in the relevant ordinance.However, after the last date the same may be accepted on payment of the following penalty :

i) within normal period : No penalty ii) After expiry of normal period :

7 a) upto 4 months : Rs. 250/- b) After 4 months and upto six months : Rs . 500/- c) After 6 months and upto one year Rs . 1000/- d) After expiry of the extended period under Clause (c) above and upto one year : Rs . 2000/- No further extension will be granted and the result will be declared treating the candidate as absent, except that the Vice-Chancellor may allow further extension with further penalty as he may deem fit in a hard and deserving case to his satisfaction. A candidate who submits his/ her dissertation/ project report etc. during the extended period with penalty as above, will not be entitled to the University Medal.

24. In a very exceptional and hard case, the Vice-Chancellor when he deems it appropriate may allow as a specail case to accept the examination form and fee (with late fee of Rs.500/-) 15 days prior to commencement of the examination and upto one day before the commencement of the examination, the late fee shall be charged Rs. 2000/-

25. The application for refund of examination fee must reach the Registrar/ Controller of Examination within three months of the date of commencement of examination.

Refund of examination fee shall be allowed if :- i) the Head of the Department/ Principal of a College intimates to the University office atleast a week before the commencement of the examination withdrawing the admission form the candidate sent up provisionally for shortage in attendance;

ii) the Head of the Department/ Principal of a College intimates to the University office atleast a week before the commencement of the examination that a candidate subsequent to the submission of his admission form has fallen short of lectures and is, therefore, ineligible to take the examination.

iii)a candidate for B.A./ B. Sc. B. Com.(Home. Science) examination is reported to be ineligible to take the examination, having not obtained to requistite percentage of marks in the House Examinations as required under the Ordinance. The 8 intimation should reach the University Office atleast a week before the commencement of examination;

iv)a candidate for an examination is reported to be ineligible having not fulfilled the requirement of internal assessment wherever provided for. The intimation should reach the University Office atleast a week before the commencement of the examination;

v)a candidate dies before the commencement of examination or during the course of examination having finished part of the Examinations. The fee shall be refunded to his/ her legal heirs.

26. Refund shall not be allowed :

1) When a candidate’s name is withdrawn for non-payment of College dues;

2) When a candidate’s name is withdrawn on account of rustication of expulsion from the University Department/ College for misconduct.

3) if permission accorded to him to take the examination is subsequently cancelled as a result of mis-statement of suppression of important fact or want of relevant information in his examination admission form.

27. If a candidate becomes ineligible to appear in examination after submitting his/ her admission form and fee, he/ she shall forfeit the examination fee to the University.

28. A candidate who, due to sickness, is unable to present himself/ herself at an examination shall not receive a refund of his/ her fee.

Provided that the Vice- Chancellor may, in a case in which he is satisfied about the genuineness of the case, order for adjustment of the following portion of the fee towards the next immediate examination viz;

i) Examination fee after deduction of Rs. 10/- ii) Fee for statement of marks.

Such adjustment will not be permitted if the candidate changes his/ her faculty.

29. The Register/ Controller of Examinations shall publish the results of various University examinations in such manner as may be 9 decided by the Academic Council.

Before declaration, the results of an examination together with a statement of pass percentage in the whole examination and in each subject for current and the preceding years, shall be submitted to the Vice- Chancellor.

The Vice- Chancellor may order random checking of any set of answer of any examination through subject specialist(s) where he has got reason of blatant misuse of the position and the authority at the level of the examiner(s). Further the Vice- Chancellor may withdraw any such benefit wrongfully given to any examinee and to restore any such benefit based on the actual performance of examinee.

30. The Registrar/ Controller of Examinations may withhold the result of any candidate who by an act of omission or commission might be found to be guilty of either contravening the provisions of the Act, the Statutes, the Ordinances or the Regulations or of noncompliances thereof or for any other cause which in the opinion of the, Registrar/ Controller of Examinations might warrant such an action.

31. The Vice- Chancellor shall have power to quash the result of a candidate after it has been declared if :- i) he is disqualified for using unfairmeans in the examinations; or ii) a mistake is found in his result; or iii) he is found ineligible to appear in the examination.

32. a) A candidate shall be entitled to have his answer books rechecked on payent of a fee of Rs. 50/- per answer-book, subject to the following :

i) Applications for rechecking is received by the University withinn 30 days of the date on which the result is decalred by the University.

ii) Re- checking will be done only to see if the marks awarded to various answers have been correctly added and if all the answers have been examined by the examiner and his roll number and awards have been correctly posted.

10 b) If any mistake is dicovered as a result of rechecking , the fee paid shall be refunded.

33. A candidate whose answer- book is lost after having ben received by the Superintendent of the examination, may be permitted bythe Vice- Chancellor to re- appear in the paper lost on a date to be fixed by the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations, provided he has passed in all other subjects of the examination or likely to be placed under compartment. If he obtains pass marks in the papers in which he has reappeard, he shall be declared to have passed the examination or placed under compartment, as the case may be.

If there is a dispute as to whether a candidate’s answer book was duly received or not, the finding of the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations subject to confirmation by the Vice-Chancellor, shall be final.

34. Notwithstanding anything contained in any other ordinance/ Regulation, the Acdemic Council shall have power in the case of all examinations held by the University to hold an additional examinations in the same year for special reasons to be recorded.

35. The Academic Council may cancel an examination at all centres if it is satsfied that there has been a leakage of question paper(s) or any other irregularity which warrants such a step.

36. Except as otherwise decided by the Academic Council, the examination answer books shall be destroyed or otherwise disposed off after 4 months from the date of declaration of result.

37. Any candidate who has been decalred successful at a university examination may, after the decaration of his/ her result and before the award of the degree or diploma at the next convocation, apply to the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations alongwith fee for Provisional Certificate for passing the examination. the application should come through the officer who forwarded the application of the candidate for apperaing in the examination together with a fee of Rs. 100/- for the issue of Provisional Certificate.

38. The names of first ten successful candidates in each examination who obtain first division be declared in order of merit.

39. A candidate admitted in the Directorate of Distance Education may be permitted to take admission as a regular student in the next higher class in the Colleges and University teaching Departments/ PGRC Rewari, if seats are available. The regular admission cases of all the DDE students in a particular class be considered on a notified date subject to the fulfilment of the following. conditions :- 1) the course curriculum of regular as well as distance education programme are the same.

2) i) for the UG Courses from DDE, a candidate must have secured a minimum of :- a) 55% marks in the preceding class for B.A. course :- b) 60% marks in the preceding class for B.Com/ BCA/BBA or any other professional under- graduate course.

ii) For PG Courses :

55% marks in M.A./ M.Sc./M. Com. in the preceding class of PG Course.

3) The admission to regular course will be allowed only if the mode of admission is the same and against vacant seats only.

12 ORDINANCE : B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science) B.Sc. (Human Nutrition & Dietetics and B. Sc. Sports) Examinations

1. The duration of the course of instruction for B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./ B.Sc. (Home Science) shall be three years and the examination shall be held in three parts Part-I examination shall be held at the end of 1st year, Part-II examination at the end of 2nd year and Part-III examination at the end of third year. The examination in Part-I & II shall be held once a year ordinarily in the month of April or on such dates as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.

The examination in Part-III shall be held twice a year ordinarily in the month of April and September or on such date (s) as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.

The Supplementary examination for Part-I and Part-II for compartment/reappear candidates shall be held ordinarily in the month of September or on such dates as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.

2. The date of commencement of the examination as well as the last date for the receipt of examination forms and fee as fixed by the Vice-Chancellor, shall be notified by the Registrar/Controller of Examinations to all the colleges admitted to the privileges of the University.

3. A candidate’s admission form and fee may be accepted after the last date on payment of late fee as prescribed up to the period notified by the University.

Candidate should have attained the age of 17 years or more on 30th June of the year of admission.

4. No one shall be eligible to join the first year (Part-I) class of B.A./ B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science) B.Sc. Human nutrition & Dietics unless :- i) he/she has passed one of the following examinations with 33% marks in aggregate for admission to B.A. Part-I, 35% for admission to B.Sc. (Home Science) Part-I, 40% for admission to B. Com.

Part-I and 45% for admission to B. Sc Part-I.

a) Senior Secondary Certificate Examination of Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani.

OR 13 b) B.A./B.Sc (Home Science) Part-I examination under old scheme of this University.

OR c) Diploma in Pharmacy Course for (B.A./B.Sc.-I only).

d) The 3 year professional diploma programmes conducted by the State Board of Technical Board (Haryana) without passing English and Hindi subjects at 10+2 level for admission to B.A. / B. Sc. courses.

e) Any other examination recognised by the Academic Council as equivamlent to (a) or (b) or (c) or (d) above.

14 B.Sc (Sports Science) A candidate with the following qualifications/achievement shall be eligible to take admission in the 1st year of the B.Sc. (Sports Science) Course :- a) Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) of Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani or an equivalent examination recognised by this University or Intermediate certificate or certificate in Physical Education of atleast one year duration from any recognised institution with a total period of 12 years of school or recognised equivalent qualifications.

AND b) The candidate should have participated in sports which may be district school, inter-district and inter college (Intermediate).

However, the additional weightage for outstanding sports will be given as per criteria laid down as under :- For deciding the total merit of the candidate the following marks will be added to the marks obtained by the candidates in the academic merit :- a) 1st, 2nd and 3rd position at Junior World/ Junior 25 Marks Asian/ Youth Common Wealth Games/ Junior International Meet.

b) Participation in clause (a) games & tournament given above 15 Marks OR have won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in National School Games, Junior National Championship/ All India University Tournaments.

c) Participation in National School Games/ Junior National Championship/ Inter University Tournaments (Inter College).

8 Marks Note :- 1)Only the highest weightage will be counted out of above categories.

2)Only those games which are recognised and adopted by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) will be considered for the purpose of eligibility and weightages.

3)Candidate should have attained the age of 17 years or more on 30th June of the year of admission.

15 Note :

1. The candidate seeking admission to B.Sc. (Non-Medical Group) Part-I should have passed the above examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and those seeking admission to B.Sc. (Medical Group) Part-I should have passed the above examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

2. The admission to B.Sc. (Home Science) course shall be open to women candidates only.

3. If a candidate of another Board did not pass in the subject of English at 10+2 level, he/she may be allowed provisionally to join the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/ Part-I class as the case may be under new scheme of this University subject to his/her qualifying in the subject of English of 10+2 examination at the Supplementary examination of the same year or in the next annual examination held in March from the Board concerned. Such a candidate shall have to furnish to the University proof of his/her having cleared the subject of English before the declaration of result of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./ B.Sc. (Home Sc.) Part-I examination failing which his/ her result of B.A./ B. Sc./ B. Com./ B. Sc. (Home Science Part- I examination shall be withheld.

4. No one shall be eligible to join the second year (Part-II) class of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/ course unless he/she has passed :

a) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Sc Sports Science Part-I examination as the case may be, under new scheme of this University. OR b) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc.(Home Science)/Part-II examination as the case may be, under old scheme of this University.

c) An examination recognised as equivalent to (a) or (b) above.

A student who wishes to seek admission/migration to Part-II course after passing the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination under (10+2 system) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto and also after having passed the 1st year examination of any statutory University, recognised by this University as equivalent to 1st year examination of this University under new scheme may be allowed to do so provided : that he/she has secured 33% or 40% or 45% or 35% marks, as the case may be in aggregate of the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination or of any equivalent examination 16 and the minimum percentage of marks in the 1st year examination of the degree course equivalent to the percentage of marks as laid down in Clause-16.

5. A person who has passed one of the following examinations shall be eligible to join 3rd year (i.e. Part-III) class of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./ B.Sc. (Home Science)/ course :

a) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/Part-II examinations as the case may be, under new scheme of this University.

b) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/Part-II examination as the case may be, under new scheme of other statutory Universities. Provided that the subjects offered for B.A./B.Sc./ B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)Part-II were the same as are available at this University and the syllabi were not materially different.

In case the subject/paper offered for the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)Part-II were not the same as are available at this University, the candidate may be given exemption in the Part-III for the subject (s)/paper

(s) already studied/passed by the student and the subject (s) /paper (s) which the candidate has not studied/passed in Part-I & II shall have to be Studied/Passed alongwith remaining subjects (s)/paper (s) of Part-III

6. The examination in Part-I, II & III shall be open to a student who :- has passed not less than one academic year previously the requisite examination as laid down in Clause-4,5 & 6 above.

In case of a candidate who passed the requisite exam. under the rule relating to compartment the period of one academic year shall be counted from the examination in which he/she is first placed under compartment.

a) A candidate who is placed under compartment in one subject only 10+2 examination of the Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani or of any other Board/University recognised by this University may be allowed provisionally to read for TDC-I exam.

and to clear the compartment subject in two consecutive chances.

If he/she fail to produce/submit the proof of having passed the compartment subject even at the second chance to be held simultaneously with TDC-I exam. his/her candidature result for the TDC-I exam. shall stand automatically cancelled.

Provided that a candidate who joins Part-I of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./ B.Sc. (Home Science) as the case may be must have obtained 17 atleast 33%, 35%, 40%, 45% marks respectively in the aggregate (by adding minimum qualifying marks in the compartmental subject) in the Sr. Secondary Certificate Examination (+2 Examination) or an examination recognised equivalent thereto.

a)(i) A candidate of TDC Part-I who is placed under compartment/ re-appear in one subject only may be promoted to TDC Part- II provisionally. Such a candidate will have to clear the compartment paper of Part- I in four consecutive chances with permission to appear in TDC Part -II examination simultaneousely. However, he/ she will not be allowed to read for TDC Part- III untill and unless he/ she clears the compartment paper of TDC Part-I.

a)(ii)Similarly, the candidates or TDC Part-II who are under compartment/ re-appear in one subject only may be allowed provisionally to read for TDC Part-III (subject to rule-7 (a) (i) above). Such candidates will be allowed four consecutive chances to clear the compartment/ re-appear a paper of TDC Part-II with permission to appear in TDC Part-III examination simultaneously.

a)(iii)The candidate placed under compartment/ re-appear in TDC Part-III will be allowed four consecutive chances to clear the same.

a) (iv)The candidates who are unable to clear the compartment/ reappear subject within four consecutive chances, will have to appear in all the papers of the class afresh as an ex- student subject to Clause-9 with permission to appear in the higher class exam. to which he/she stands promoted (subject to Clause 7(a) (i) above.

b) has his/her name submitted to the Controller of Examinations by the Principal of the College he/ she has most recently attended and produces the following certificates signed by the Principal of that college.

i) of having remained one the rolls of a recognised college for the academic year preceding the exam;

ii) of having satisfactorily performed the work of his/her class;

iii) of having attended not less than :

1. 75% of the full course of lectures delivered to his/her class in each of the subject offered, (the course to be counted from the date of admission upto the last date when the classes break up for preparatory holidays, viz. 21 working days before the commencement of the examination) ; and 18

2. 75% of the periods assigned to Practical Work in each of the Science subjects or Psychology or in the case of Geography Map Work and Practical (the minimum number of periods of practical work and in the case of Geography Map work and Practical required to be arranged by each college shall not be less than 40% in each subject.

iv) of having obtained not less than 20% marks in each subject or 25% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects in the half yearly house examination held in November/December with 100 marks for each subject.

7. a) A student who is unable to appear in the annual examination due to shortage in attendance and has complied with the requirement in Clause-7 (b) (iv) above may be exempted from this requirement while taking the examination in the following year as an ex-student in terms of Clause-9.

b) A student who has completed the requirement percentage of lectures but has failed to comply with the requirements in Clause-7 (b) (iv) may be allowed on the recommendation of Principal of the College concerned to appear as an ex-student in the following year.

8. A student who has completed the prescribed course of instruction in recognised college for I,II, III examination, but does not appear in it or, having appeared fails, may be allowed on the recommendations of the Principal of the college concerned three consecutive chances to appear in the examination as an ex-student without attending a fresh course of instruction.

9. A candidate who re-appear in B.A. Part-I examination as an exstudent (in full subjects) may change one of his subjects.

10. The amount of examination fee to be paid by a candidate for each part shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.

11. i) The medium of instruction shall be Hindi/English.

ii) The question papers will be set in :

a) Hindi in case of Sanskrit.

b) the language concerned in case of other languages.

c) in both Hindi and English in case of other subjects.

iii) The candidates shall write their answers in :

a) The language concerned in case of English and Modern Indian 19 and Oriental Language except Sanskrit in which case the answers may be written in Hindi ; and b) Hindi, English, Punjabi or Urdu in case of other subjects.

13.1. The examination shall be held according to the syllabus prescribed by the Academic Council. A candidate who fails in an examination, or having been eligible fails to appear in an examination shall unless approved otherwise by the Academic Council take the examination as an ex-student according to the syllabus prescribed by University for regular students appearing for the examination, provided that the syllabus for the candidates for the compartment/re-appear examination to be held in September/April as the case may be shall be the same as was in force for the regular students in the last Annual Examination.

13.2. A candidate for B.A. Examination shall take up English and Hindi/ Punjabi/Sanskrit/Urdu as compulsory subjects and two elective subjects in each of three parts. Two elective subjects may be selected from the subjects prescribed for the examination as per syllabus, subject to the following :

a) A candidate shall offer Military Science if he is a regular student.

b) A candidate shall offer Statistics if he/she offers it alongwith Mathematics/Computer Applications.

c) Every candidate shall offer Hindi either as a compulsory subject or as an elective subject.

d) Language offered as compulsory subject cannot be offered as an elective subject.

e) A candidate shall offer Computer Applications with Math., Statistics for B.A. only.

13.3. A candidate for B.Sc. Examination shall offer one paper of English in the 1st year and one paper of Hindi/Punjabi/Sanskrit/Urdu in the 2nd year. In addition he/she shall be required to offer the subjects of B.Sc. as the case may be, according to the scheme of examination and syllabus approved by the Academic Council.

13.4. A candidate for B.Com. Examination shall offer the papers according to the scheme of examination and the syllabus approved by the Academic Council.

13.5. A candidate for B.Sc. (Home Science) examination shall offer one paper of English in the 2nd year and the subject of B.Sc.

20 (Home Science) in the 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year, according to the scheme of examination and the syllabus approved by the Academic Council.

Note :- A candidate coming from a Non-Hindi speaking area shall if, he/she did not offer Hindi/Punjabi/Sanskrit/Urdu in the examination qualifying for admission, offer in lieu of compulsory Hindi/Punjabi/Sanskrit/Urdu, the subject of Additional English which shall carry the same marks as for Hindi/Punjabi/Sanskrit/ Urdu.

12. The College students offering a U.G.C. Scheme of restructured/ vocational courses, shall be required to take up the combination of traditional and compulsory subjects in each of the TDC Part-I, II & III as mentioned against each course in the Scheme of Examination.

The candidate offering vocational/restructured courses as per UGC scheme will be entitled to additional diploma, as per the details given in the scheme of examination/syllabus. The minimum number of marks, required to pass the Diploma examination and for the award of division shall be given in Clause-15 & 16.

The candidate may also offer career/job oriented courses, as per UGC scheme and they will be entitled to additional certificate/ diploma/advanced diploma as per details given in the scheme of examinations/syllabus. The minimum number of marks required to pass the examination and for the award of division shall be the same as given in clauses 15 & 16.

13. The minimum number of marks required to pass the examination shall be 35% in each subject in case of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc.

(Home Science)/B.Sc. (Human Nutrition & Dietics)/B.Sc Sports Science examination. 35% marks in each paper in case of B.Com.

examination. Provided that in a subject in which there is a practical examination, this percentage shall be required separately in written and practical parts (including map working case of Geography) of the examination. (A candidate of the University who fails in theory or practical or both parts of subject may be allowed to reappear/compartment in the theory or practical or both parts, as the case may be of that subject).

14. The successful candidates shall be classified in three divisions as under :

i) those who obtain 60% or more of the aggregate number of marks in all the subjects including the compulsory subjects in Part-I, II & III examination taken together shall be placed in the First Division.

ii) those who obtain less than 60% but not less than 50% marks in all the subjects including the compulsory subjects in Part-I, II & III examination taken together, shall be placed in the Second Division.

iii) those who obtain below 50% marks in all the subject including the Compulsory subjects in Part-1, II & III examination taken together, shall be placed in the third Division.

A student who has passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science) Part-I and or Part-II examination under new scheme from other University, the marks obtained in B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/Part-I and/or Part-II shall be counted towards division of successful candidates at Part-III examination by increasing or decreasing the marks obtained in accordance with the maximum marks prescribed for Part-I and Part-II by the M.D. University, Rohtak.

15. A candidate while appearing in the supplementary examination or the next Annual Examination shall be required to pay examination fee as for the whole examination and shall not be eligible for a scholarship, a prize or a medal.

16. Six weeks after the termination of the examination or as soon thereafter as is possible, the Registrar/Controller of Examinations shall publish a list of successful candidates. Each successful candidate of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Sc.

(Human Nutrition & Dietics)/B.Sc. Sports Part-III examination shall be awarded a degree mentioning the division.

17. A candidate :- i) A candidate who has passed B.A. three years course of this University may appear in additional subject(s) prescribed for the course in the subsequent examination except the subjects with which he/ she has already passed the course.

ii) A candidate who has passed B. Sc./ B. Com./ BBA/ BCA may also appear in additional subjects of B.A. (Pass Course) in the subsequent examination.

iii) A candidate appearing under this clause shall sit for Part-I and 22 Part-II simultaneously in annual examination and for Part- III in immediate supplementary examination. For Part-I and Part-II the candidate will submit one examination form and the fee as prescribed shall be charged.

In case, he/she fails to pass any of the part (s) in next annual examination, he/she shall appear in all the parts denovo.

Provided that if the candidate is appearing in the subject (s) involving practical, he/she shall study in a college admitted to the privileges of this University for Part-I, II & III classes and submit a certificate from the Principal for having completed the prescribed course of lectures, one month before the commencement of examination.

However, a candidate who has passed B.Sc./ B. Com./ BBA/ BCA may also appear in additional subjects of B.A. (Pass Course) in the subsequent examination.

B.Com.(Vocational) students may appear and pass in all papers of B. Com. I, II & III as additional paper(s) while doing B. Com.

(Vocational) and after completion of B. Com. (Vocational) in the manner given above.

iv) The minimum marks required to pass in each subject shall be 35% in theory and practical separately. The candidate may be allowed to appear in additional qualifying subjects) simultaneously with B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Sc. (Human Nutrition & Dietics)/B.Sc Sports Part-II and III examinations. However, the marks obtained in the additional subject (s) shall not be counted towards division of the candidates.

18. i) A person who has qualified for the award of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./ B.Sc. (Home Science) (Pass) degree from M.D. University, Rohtak may be allowed to reappear as an ex-student in subject

(s) in which he/she appeared earlier, with a view to improve his/ her previous performance he/she may reappear in one or more paper (s) of Part-III in the immediate supplementary examination of his/her passing the 3rd year examination and thereafter in the next annual examination for Part-I & Part-II examination. Likewise a candidate passing his/her Part-III in the supplementary examination shall appear for improvement of Part-I and/or Part- II in April/May and Part-III in September of the following calendar year. However, if a candidate does not want to improve his/her performance in Part-I and/or Part-II and wants to appear in Part- 23 III only and vice-versa, he/she may be permitted subject to the condition that he/she will have to furnish an undertaking alongwith the examination from that he/she is not interested to improve his/ her performance in Part-I or Part-II of Part-III as the case may be. The candidate will have to deposit fee and form for each examination separately.

ii) The higher score in the paper (s)/subject (s) in which he/she reappears for improvement will be taken into account towards the final result and the marks already obtained by the candidate in the paper/subject (s) in which he/she has not opted to improve his/her result shall be carried forward.

In case the candidate does not improve his/her result/score his/ her result shall be declared as Previous Result Stand.

21.1 In order to provide opportunity for women candidates who have already passed B.A. examination of this University with Home Science as a subject to join the M.Sc. (Home Science) Course an examination of B.Sc. standard in the following subjects shall ordinarily be held once a year in the month of April on a date fixed by the Vice-Chancellor :- a) Nutrition and Foods.

b) Textiles and Clothing.

c) Art and Everyday Life.

d) Home-Management.

e) Biology f) Psychology and Human Relationship g) Household Chemistry h) Sociology i) Principles of Economics

21.2. Every candidate for this examination shall be required to produce the following certificate (s) signed by the Head of a College recognised for B.Sc. Home Science Course :- a) of having attended not less than 75% of the lectures delivered to the class in theory and practical of each subject during the academic year preceding the exam.

24 b) of having completed the sessional work in each subject prescribed in Clause 21 (1).

21.3. The last date for receipt of admission forms and fees shall be the same as for the B.Sc. Home Science examination. The amount of admission fee to be paid by a candidate and additional fee for practical subject (s) shall be as prescribed from time to time. Every candidate shall be examined according to the syllabus prescribed for these subjects by the Academic Council.

21.4. The minimum number of marks required to pass the examination shall be 40% in each theory and practical examination separately.

21.5. Candidates who obtained pass marks in all the subjects shall be admitted to the Degree of B.Sc. Home Science and shall be eligible to join the M.Sc. Home Science Course.

19. Notwithstanding the integrated nature of the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./ B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Sc. (Human Nutrition & Dietics)/B.Sc Sports Course which is spread over more than one academic year, the Ordinance in force at the time a student joints course shall hold good only for the examination (s) held during or at the end of the academic year and nothing in these Ordinances shall be deemed to debar the University from amending the ordinances subsequently and the amended Ordinances, if any shall apply to all students whether old or new.

25 Ordinance B.Sc./B.Com/B.Sc. (Home Science) Pass & Vocational (Semester System) Examinations

1. The duration of the course of instruction for B.Sc./B.Com./ B.Sc. (Home Science)/.B.Sc. (Sports Science)/ B.Com (Vocational) shall be three years spread in six semesters.

the examination shall be held in six parts Semester I, III and V, examination shall be held in month of November/ December and semester II, IV and VI will be held in month of May/June each year.

The supplementary examination for re-appear candidates for semester I, III, V and semester II, IV, VI will be held with regular batch in the month of November/December and May/ June resepectively on such dates as may fixed by the Vice- Chancellor. However, supplementary examination for semester VI will be held in November/December also with odd semester exams.

Provided that a candidate shall have to complete the three year course within six years.

2. The schedule of commencement of the examination and the dates for the receipt of examination form and fee as fixed by the Vice-Chancellor shall be notified by the Controller of examinations to all the colleges admitted to the privileges of the University.

3. No one shall be eligible to join the first Semester of B.Sc./ B.Com./B.Sc./ (Home Science)/B.Sc. (Sports Science)*/ B.Com (Vocational) unless :- i) he/she has passed one of the following examinations with 35% for admission to B.Sc. (Home Science) Sem-I.

40% for admission to B.Com Sem.-I 45% for admission to B.Sc. Sem.-I a) Senior Secondary Certificate Examination of Haryana Education Board, Bhiwani.

b) Diploma in Pharmacy Course for admission to B.Sc. Sem.-I OR c) 3 Year professional diploma programmes conducted 26 by the State Board of Technical Education (Haryana) without passing English and Hindi subjects at 10+2 level for admission to B.Com/B.Sc. courses.

d) Any other examination recognized by the Academic Council as equilvalent to (a) or (b) above.

*Sports weightage for B.Sc. (Sports Science) will be as per Annexure-A.

Note :

(i) The candidate seeking admission to B.Sc. (Non-Medical Group) Sem-I should have passed the above examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and those seeking admission to B.Sc. (Medical Group) Sem.- I should have passed the above examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

(ii) The admission to B.Sc. (Home Science) course shall be open to women candidates only.

(iii) If a candidate belonging to a Board, other than Haryana Education Board has not passed English subject at 10+2 level, he/she may be allowed provisionally to join the B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Sc.(Sports Science)/B.Com. (vocational) Sem. -I class as the case may subject to his/her qualifying in the subject of English of 10+2 at the Supplementary examination of the same year or in the next annual examination held in March from the Board concerned. Such a candidate shall have to furnish to the University proof of his/her having cleared the subject of English before the declaration of result of Sem.-II examination failing which his/her result of semester II examination shall stand automatically cancelled.

(iv) A candidate who is placed under compartment in one subject only/10+2 examination of the Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani or of any other Board/ University recognised by this University may be allowed provisionally to read for I- Sem. examination provided that he/she must have obtained the required percentage of marks in the aggregate (by adding minimum qualifying marks in the compartment subject).

27 Such a candidate must clear the compartment subject in two consecutive chances. If he/she fails to produce/ submit the proof of having passed the compartment subject even at the second chance to be held simultaneously with TDC-2nd Sems. his/her result for the TDC-Ist and 2nd Semester examination shall stand automatically cancelled.

4. a) The exam. shall be open to a student who has his/her name sumitted to the controller of Examinations by the Principal of the College he/she has most recently attended and produces the following certificates signed by the Principal of that college :-

(i) of having remained on the rolles of a recognized college for the academic year preceding the exam;

(ii) of having satisfactorily performed the work of his/her class;

(iii) of having attended not less than :

1. 75% of the full course of lectures delivered to his/her class in each of the subjects offered, (the course to be counted from the date of admission upto the last date when the classes break up for preparatory holidays, and;

2. 75% of the periods assigned to Practical Work.

b) A Candidate whose result is declared late without any fault on his/her part may attend classes for the next higher semester provisionally at his/her own risk and responsibility subject to his/her passing the concerned semester examination. In case a candidate fails to pass the concerned semester examination, his/her attendance internal assessment in the next higher semester in which he/she was allowed to attended classes provisionally will stand cancelled.

5. A candidate shall be promoted to 2nd, 4th and 6th semester automatically without any condition of passing minimum number of papers for promotion from 2nd to 3rd semester the candidate shall have to clear at least 50% papers of Ist and 2nd semesters taken together. For promotion from 4th to 5th semester the candidate shall have to clear atleast 50% papers of 3rd and 4th semesters taken together.

28 However, the candidate must have fulfilled the requirements of clause-4 also to be eligible for promotion.

6. The amount of examination fee to be paid by a candidate for each part shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.

7. i) The medium of instruction shall be Hindi/English.

ii) The question papers will be set in :

a) Hindi in case of Sanskrit.

b) The language concerned in case of other languages.

c) In both Hindi and English in case of other subjects.

iii) The candidates shall write their answers in :

a) The language concerned in case of English and Modern Indian and Oriental Language except Sanskrit in which case the answer may be written in Hindi; and b) Hindi, English, Punjabi or Urdu in case of other subjects.

8. The examination shall be held according to the syllabus prescribed by the Academic Council. The fail/re-appear candidates will also appear in the exam. as per syllabus applicable to regular studetns of that exams.

9. The candidates shall be required to offer the subjects according to the scheme of examination.

10. The minimum percentage of marks to pass the examination in each semester will be :- i) 35% in each written paper and internal assessment separately.

ii) 35% in each written and internal evaluation in case of separately.

iii) 40% in Viva-Voce Examination;

iv) 40% in aggregate in each semester examination.

11. The Head of the Deptt./Principal will preserve the rcords on the basis of which the internal assessment awards have 29 been prepared for inspection., if needed by the University atleast till the end of one month from the date of declaration of the semester examination results.

12. Project : Every student of B.Com. (Vocational) (excepting B.Com. Computer Application) 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th semesters shall be required to prepare a Project Report on any subject of the concerned semester. The topic and the supervisor for the project will be decided by the College. The project work shall consist of information collected from any kind/ size of business/service entity. The work for project can be done after the classes are over and on holidays of the University because it is not based on training. Two copies of the Project-Report (in not more than two thousand words) shall be submitted by the student duly signed by the supervisor at least one week before the commencement of 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th semester examinations as the case may be. The Principal of the concerned college shall place the Project-Reports for evaluation before the Board of Examiners comprising supervisor and one more examiner (as external to be appointed by the HOD Commerce, MDU Rohtak), The evaluation of Project Report shall be done on the basis of presentation of the Report by the candidate and performance in the Viva-Voce. In case of dispute on evaluation between the examiner and the supervisor the HOD Commerce, MDU Rohtak shall act as mediator. The awards of the Project-Report shall be sent by the Principal of the concerned college to the Controller of Examinations.

13. The list of successful candidates after the 6th semester examination shall be arranged as under in three divisions on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained in his/her Bachelor’s Degree of B.Sc., B.Com, B.Sc. (Home Science) B.Sc. (Sports Science) B.Com (Vocational).

a) those who obtained 60% or more marks First Division b) those who obtain 50% or more marks 30 but less than 60% Second Division c) those who obtain less thank 50% Third Division

14. After the termination of examination as soon as possible the Controller Examinations shall publish the result.

15. i) A person who has qualified for the award of B.Sc./ B.Com/B.Sc. (Home Science) B.Sc. (Sports Science)/ B.Com (Vocational) degree from M.D. University, Rohtak may be allowed to re-appear as an ex-student in theory papers only in which he/she appeared earlier for improvement of result. The candidate shall appear in odd semester in December and even semester exam.

in May continuously within a year of the passing the degree course. The overall result will be given only after the two chances are over.

ii) Higher score in the paper(s)/subject(s) in which he/ she reappears for improvement will be taken into account towards the final result and the marks already obtained by the candidate in the paper/subject(s) in which he/she has not opted to improve his/her result shall be carried forward.

In case the candidate does not improve his/her result score his/her result shall be declared as previous result stands.

APPENDIX-A SPORT WEIGHTAGE FOR B.SC. (SPORTS SCIENCE) 31 For deciding the total mark of the candidate the following marks will be added to the marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination.

b) Participation clause(a) games & tournament given above have won 15 Marks 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in National School Games. Junior /Senior National Championship/All India University tournaments.

c) Participation in National School Games, Junior Senior National Championship/Inter University OR have won 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in State School Tournaments University Tournaments University tournaments. (Inter College).

08 Marks d) Posit ion achieved at School/Junior Senior distr ict championship 05 Marks 32 ORDINANCE : B.A./B.SC./B.COM.(HONS.) EXAMINATION

1. The Bachelor of Arts ( Hons.), The Bachelor of Science (Hons.) And the Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) Examinations shall be in three parts. Part- I Examination shall be held at the end of the first year, part-II Examination at the end of the second year and part-III Examination at the end of the third year.

The Examinations in Part- I, II & III shall be held once a year ordinarily in the month of April./ May, on such dates as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.

A Supplementary examination for those who are to re- appear one or more subsidiary or/ and qualifying subject and who are to reappear for passing or for improvement in papers of main subject in Part-III shall be held ordinarily in the month of September/ October of the same year on a date to be fixed by the Vice- Chancellor.

2.(a) No one shall be eligible to join the first year ( Part- I) Class of B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com. (Hons.) Course unless he/ she has passed (a) Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) Examination of Board f School Education Haryana, Bhiwani or (b) B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com./ B. Sc. (Home Science) Part-I Examination, as the case may be under old scheme of this University or (c) any other examination recognised by this University as equivalent to (a) or (b) above, obtaining:-

(i) For admission to B. A.(Hons.) 50%marks in aggregate or 55% marks in the subject of Hons. Course.

(ii) For B.Com./ B. Sc.(Hons.) 55% marks in aggregate or 55% marks in the subject of Hons. Course.

(b) No one shall be eligible to join the 2nd Year (Part- II), class of the B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com. (Hons.) Course unless he has passed First year (Part-I) Exam. of the B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com.(Hons.) under new scheme of this University.

(c) No one shall be eligible to join the third year (Part- III), class of the B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com. (Hons.) Course of this University, unless he had passed 2nd year (part- II) exam.(Hons.) under new scheme of this University.

(d) A regular candidate of a Department/ College admitted to the privileges of this University in the subject of B. A./ B. Sc./B. Com./(Hons.) can attend the course of subsidiary and qualifying subjects in other College/ Deptt. In case there is no arrangement to teach these subjects in the College/ Deptt. where he has taken admission for his main subjects of Hons. Course. The principal/ Head of the College/ Deptt. where a 33 student is attending subsidiary and qualifying subjects shall certify that the said student has completed the prescribed number of lectures etc.

3. The Examination in Part- I/ Part-II/ Part-III shall be open to person:-

(a) Who has passed not less than one academic year previously the requisite examination as laid down in Clause- 2 above.

(b) i) who has been on the rolls of University teaching Deptt./ College admitted to the privileges of this University throughout the academic year preceding the examination.

ii) Whose name is submitted to the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations by the Head of the Department/ principal of College he has last attended provided that the Head of the Department/ Principal of College certified that the candidate has :-

(a) attended not less than 75% of the full course delivered to his class in each subject offered by him 75% of the periods assigned to practical work in each Science subject.

(Lectures and practical work shall be counted upto 21 days before the commencement of the examination.).

(b) satisfactorily performed the work of his class; and

(c) obtained not less than 25% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects /Paper (s) of the result of house test/ terminal test in the month of Sept./ Oct. and half yearly house examination held in December/ January with 100 marks in each subject.

4.a) A student who is unable to appear in the Annual Examination due to shortage of attendance and has complied with the requirements of clause - 3 (b) (ii) (c) may be exempted from this reqiurement when he appears in the examination in the following year or thereafter, after making up the deficiency in lectures.

b) A student who has completed the required percentage of Lectures and practicals may be permitted to appear in the examination in the same year or the following year as an ex- student even if as a regular student he did not comply with the requirements of Clause- 3 (b) (ii) (c).

i) For promotion from B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com.(Hons.) Part-I to Part-II a candidate shall be required to clear 50% of theory papers atleast one theory paper of the main subject and from part- II to Part- III he shall have to clear atleast 50% of the theory papers,of the main subject of Part-I and Part-II taken together. While calculating 50% theory papers fraction may be ignored. For example, if the number of papers is 5, the candidate will be considered to have cleared Honours Paper(s) if he obtains atleast 40 % marks in that/ those paper(s).

Provided that a student joining Honours in the 2nd year may be allowed 34 to clear the first year. Honours paper either in second year or in second and third year together.

ii) For promotion from Part-II to Part-III, a student shall be required to clear all the subsidiary/ qualifying subjects of Part-I of the Honours Course even if such a subjct is studied in 2nd year in terms of Clause- 2 (b) (ii).

5.a) A student after passing B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com. (Hons.) Part-I examination may be permitted to change over to the B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com. Part- II Course within one month of the start of admission to this course provided that the Principal of the College/ Head of Department where he is studying, is satsified that the student will be able to carry on with the new course..

Provided a student after passing B.Sc./ B. Com. (Hons.) Part- I Examination shall have to appear in the subject of English of B. A.

Part-I alongwith B. A.- II Examination, unless he has already qualified in this subject.

b)A student who joins. B. A. Part-II class may be allowed to change one or more of his elective subjects within one month of his joining B.A. Part- II Class.

6. The amount of examination fee shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.

7. A candidate shall submit his admission application to the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations on the prescribed form with the required certificates signed by the Head of the University Teaching Departments/ Principal of the College, the candidate has last attended, both in the case of students of University Teaching Department/College, admitted to the privileges of the University and ex-student.

8.i) The medium of instruction shall be :- a) Hindi in case of Hindi b)English in case of English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths;

c) English/ Hindi or Sanskrit in case of Sanskrit d) English/ Hindi in case of other subjects.

.ii) The question papers will be set :- a) in Hindi in case of Hindi b)in English in case of English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths;

c)in English and Hindi in case of Sanskrit d) English/ Hindi in case of other subjects.

.iii) The candidates shall write their answers :- a) in Hindi in case of Hindi b) in Hindi or English or Sanskrit in case of Sanskrit.

35 c) in English in case of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ;

and d) in English or Hindi in case of other subjects.

9. The minimum number of marks required to pass shall be as under :- i) Main subjects (honours) 40% marks in the aggregate and 35% in each papers (written and practicals seprartely).

ii) Qualifying and subsidiary subjects :- 35% marks in each for qualifying and subsidiary subjects (written and practical separately).

iii) Main subject (B.Sc. Honours Computer Science Course ) 40% marks in the aggregate, 35% in each papers and 40% marks in each paper of internal assessment ( where internal assessment is prescribed).

10.i) A candidate who fails in one or more qualifying/ subsidiary subject(s) may be admitted to the supplementary exam. held in the same year and / or at the next annual examination in the subjects and if he passes in it he shall be deemed to have passed the examination.

A candidate who fails in one or more paper(s) of main subjects of Hons. Part-I / Part-II may be allowed on the recommendation of the Principal of the College/ Head of the Deptt. concerned to appear/ reappear in the examination in the papers as an ex- student, without attending a fresh course of instruction within the period permissible to him to clear the papers of Hons. Part-III under clause-12.

ii) A candidate who fails in an Examination or having been eligible fails to appear in an examination shall take the examination as an ex- student according to the syllabus prescribed by the University for regular students appearing for the examination provided that the syllabus for the candidates who are to reappear in the Supplementary Examination to be held in September shall be the same as was in force for the regular student in the last Annual Examination.

11. A candidate who has completed the prescribed course of instruction in a recognised College/ University Departmet for B. A/ B. Sc./ B.

Com. (Hons.) Part-III Examination, but does not appear in it or having appeared fails, may be allowed on the recommendation of the principal of the College./ Head of the University Deptt. concerned, two consecutive chances as an ex- student to appear/ re-appear in the subjects paper as the case may be without attending a fresh course of the instruction. While re-appearing in the Examination, the candidate shall be exempted from re- appearing in papers and or practicals in which he has obtained atleast 40 marks.

Provided that the candidate who does not pass the B. A./ B. Sc./ B.

Com. (Hons.) Examination with the two consecutive chances as ex- 36 student, may be awarded B. A./ B. Sc. / B. Com. (Pass) Degree without division if he obtains atleast 35% marks in each qualifying / subsidiary subject, theory and prtactical separately and in each paper of the main ( Honours) subject theory and practical separately

Provided further that if he does not satisfy the conditions for the award of pass Degree without division as mentioned above, he shall be declared to have failed in the examination, and shall be required to appear in the examination denovo, after attending the College/ Department as a regular student.

12. The Successful candidates of B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com.(Hons.)

Examination who obtain 60% marks or more in the aggregate of the main subject shall be placed in the first division, those who obtain less than 60% marks but not less than 50% marks in the Second Division and those who obtain less than 50% marks in the Third Division. For the purpose of determining division at the end of Honours part-III Examination the marks obtained by the candidate in the Hons. Subject only at the Honours Part-I, Part-II and Part-III Examination shall be taken in to account.

However the marks obtained in qualifying subjects and subsidiary subjects will be shown in the result card.

13. Six weeks after the termination of the examination or as soon as thereafter as is possioble, the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations shall publish a list of the candidates who have passed the examintion.

Each successful candidate of B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com.(Hons.)

Examination shall receive a Degree stating the division he obtains.

14.A candidate :

i) who has passed B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com. (Hons.) Examination of this University and :

ii) who resides within the territorial jurisdiction of the University and has passed and examination declared equivalent to the B. A./ B. Sc./ B.Com.

(Hons.) Examination of this University may appear in a subsequent B.

A./ B. Com. (Hons.) Subsidiary examination in one or more subjects prescribed for the examination except the subject in which he has passed the examination.

A candidate appearing under this Clause shall sit for Part- I and Part- II Examination simultaneously and shall pay admission fee as prescribed for the whole examiation and additional fee as prescribed by the University. Provided that if the candidate is appearing in a Science subject, he shall study in a College admitted to the privileges of this University for both Part- I and Part-II classes for atleast one academic 37 year preceding the examination.

The minimum percentage of marks required to pass in each subject shall be as given in Clause -9 above.

15. A person who has qualified for the award of B. A./ B. Sc./ B. Com.

(Hons.) Degree from M. D. University Rohtak may be allowed to reappear as an ex-student in subjects in which he/ she appeared earlier, with a view to improve his/ her previous performance. He/ She may re-appear in one or more papers of Part-III in the immediate supplementary examination of his/ her passing the 3rd year examination and thereafter in the next annual examination for Part-I & Part-II examination. Likewise a candidate passing his/ her Part-III in the supplementary examination shall appear for improvement of Part-I and /or Part-II in April / May and Part-III in September of the following calender year. However,if a candidate does not want to improve his/ her performance in Part-I and / or Part-II and wants to appear in part-III only and vice versa, he/ she maybe permitted subject to the condition that he/ she will have to furnish an undertaking alongwith the examination form that he/ she is not interested to improve his/ her performance in Part-I or Part-II or Part-III as the case may be. The candidate will have to deposit fee and form for each examination separately.

The higher score in the papers/ subjects in which he reappears for improvement will be taken into account towards the final result and the marks already obtained by the candidate in the papers / subjects in which he has not opted to improve his result shall be carried forward.

In case the candidate does not improve, his result score shall be declared as Previous Result Stands.

16. Notwithstanding the integrated nature of this course which is spread over more than one academic year, the ordinance in force at the time a student joins the course shall hold good only for the examination held during or at the end of the academic year and nothing in this Ordinance shall be deemed to debar the University from amending the Ordinance and amended ordinance if any, shall apply to all students whether old or new.

38 ORDINANCE : B.SC./B.COM (HONS.)

(SEMESTER SYSTEM) EXAMINATION

1. The duration of the B.Sc./B.Com (Hons.) programme shall be of three academic years. Each year shall be divided into two semesters.

Thus the programme shall comprise of 6(six) semesters.

2. A candidate can complete B.Sc./B.Com (Hons.) within a maximum period of 6 years.

3. The examination for the 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters shall ordinarily be held in the month of December and of the 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters in the month of May/June on such dates as mya be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.

4. The last date for receipt of admission forms and fees shall be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time.

5. The supplementary examinations for the first third and fifth semester’s examination will be held with their regular first third and fifth semester’s examinations in December/January and second and fourth semester’s examination will be held along with regular second and fourth semester’s eaminations which will be held ordinarily during the month of May/June. However the reappear examination for 6th semester may be held in the month of December alongt with odd semester examinations.

A candidate on the rolls of college or and ex-student shall submit his/her application for admission to an examination on the prescribed form with the requisite certificate duly countersigned by the Principal of the college or a senior member of the teaching staff nominated by him/her.

6. Admission to the First semester of the B.Sc./B.Com (Hons.)

programme will be opened to candidates who have passed :- a) Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) examination of Haryana Board of School Education Bhiwani.

OR b) B.Sc./B.Com Part-I examination as the case may be under old scheme of this University OR c) Any other examination recognized by this University as equivalent to (a) or (b) above obtaining.

i) for B.Sc../B.com (Hons.) 55% marks in aggregate or 55% marks in the subject of Hons. course.

7. Each candidate shall be examined in the subject(s) as laid down in the syllabi prescribed by the Academic Council from time to time.

8. 10% marks in each written paper,. excluding Training Report Project Report and Viva-Voce shall be assigned for Internal Assessment.

9. The principal of the concerned college shall forward the internal assessment marks obtained by the students in each paper to the Controller of Examinations as per schedule notified. This internal assessment will be done in different courses by the concerned teachers in the presctribed manner.

The concerned teacher shall preserve records on the basis of which the internal assessment awards have been given at least till the end of one month from the date of declaration of the semester’s examination results. If needed the same could be inspected by the University Authorities.

10. (a) The exam. shall be open to a student who has his/her name submitted to the Controller of Examinations by the Principal of the College he/she has most recently attended and produces the following certificates signed by the principal of that college.

i) of having remained on the rolls of a recognized college for the academic year preceding the exam.

ii) of having satisfactorily performed the work of his/her class.

iii) of having attended not less than.

1. 75% of full course of lectures delivered to his/her class in each of the subjects offered, (the course to be counted from the date of admission up to the last date when the classes break up for preparatory holidays and

2. 75% of the periods assigned to Practical work.

(b) A candidate whose result is declared late without any fault on his/her part may attend classes for the next higher semester provisionally at his/her own risk and responsibility subject to his/her passing the concerned semester examination. In case, a candidate fails to pass the concerned semester examination, his/her attendance/Internal assessment in the next higher semester in which he/she was allowed to attend classes provisionally will stand cancelled.

11. 2nd to 6th semesters examinations shall be open to a regular student who :- i) has attended not less 75% of lectures in the respective 40 semester.

ii) has been on rolls of the college during the semester preceding the respective semester examinations.

iii) has obtained pass marks in the internal assessment in the papers of the relevant semester of which he/she is a candidate.

iv) A candidate shall be promoted to 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters automatically without any condition of passing minimum number of papers. For promotion from 2nd to 3rd semester the candidate shall have to clear at least 50% papers of 1st and 2nd semesters taken together. For promotion from 4th to 5th semesteer the candidate shall have to clear at least 50% papers of 3rd and 4th semesters taken together.

12. The medium of the instruction and the examination shall be English/ Hindi.

13. The minimum percentage of marks to pass the Examination in each semester will be :

i) Main subject (Honours) 40% marks in the aggregate and 35% in each papers (written and practical separately) ii) Qualifying and subsidiary subjects : 35% marks in each for qualifying and subsidiary subjects (written and practical separately) iii) Main subject (B.Sc. Honours Computer Science course) 40% marks in the aggregate, 35% in each papers excluding marks of internal assessment.

14. The amount of examination fee to be paid by a candidate for each semester examination shall be fixed by the University/Vice- Chancellor from time to time.

15. The internal assessment awards of a candidate having re-appear in any semester examination shall be carried forward to the next examination of the same semester.

16. As soon as possible, after the termination of the semester examination Controller of Examination shall publish the result of the candidates.

17. The Head of the Deptt./Principal will preserve the records on the basis of which the internal assessment awards have been prepared for inspection if needed by the University atleast till the end of one month from the date of declaration of the semester 41 examination results.

18. Project : Every student of B.Com (Hons.) 1st & 3rd semesters shall be required to prepare a project-Report on any subject of the concerned semester. The topic and the supervisor for the project will be decided by the college. The project work shall consist of information collected from any kind size of business/ service entity. The work for project can be done after the classes are over and on holidays of the University because it is not based on training. Two copies of the project-report (in not more than two thousand words) shall be submitted by the student duly signed by the supervisor at least one week before the commencement of 1st and 3rd semester examinations as the case may be. The principal of the concerned college shall place the project-reports for evaluation before the Board of Examiners comprising of supervisor and one external examiner to be appointed by the HOD Commerce MDU, Rohtak. The evaluation of projectreport shall be done on the basis of presentation of the Report by the candidate and performance in the viva-voce. In case of dispute on evaluation between the examiner and the superisor the HOD Commerce MDU Rohtak shall act as moderator. The awards of the Project Report shall be sent by the Principal of the concerned college to the Controller of Examinations.

19. The Comprehensive viva-voce, where ever applicable shall be conducted jointly by internal and external examiners. The comprehensive viva-voce of 2nd, 4th and 6th semester shall contain the entire syllabi of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year courses respectively.

20. Training Report : Every student of B.Com. (Hons.) of 4th semester shall be sent on 4 weeks training after the respective semesters in any commercial/Industrial/SErvice Entitites. The students shall submit two typed copies of the training report at least one week before the commencement of 5th semester examination. Every student shall have to affix the certificate of training-compeletion from the organisation where he/she joined for training reports to the Controller of Examinations for getting the same evaluated from the external examiner.

21. The practical examination of computer paper in semester 1st and 6th semester shall be conducted jointly by the internal and external examiners.

22. The list of successful candidates after the 6th semesters 42 examination shall be arranged as under in three divisions on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained in his/her Bachelor’s Degree of B.Sc./B.Com (Hons.)

a) those who obtain 60% or more marks First Division b) those who obtain 50% or more marks but Second Division less than 60% c) those who obtained less than 50% Third Division

23. The improvement facility shall be provided to students of B.Sc./ B.Com (Hons.) course within the period of one year after the 6th semester.

24. Notwithstanding the nature of this course which is spread over more than one academic year, the Ordinance in force at the time a student joins the course shall hold good only for the examination held during or at the end of the academic year and nothing in this Ordinance shall be deemed to debar the University from amending the Ordinance and the amended Ordinance if any, shall apply to all the students whether old or new.

43 ORDINANCE : B.A. DEGREE THROUGH ENGLISH ONLY ETC.

a) A candidate belonging to the area within the jurisdiction of this University, even if, residing outside the jurisdiction of the University , and has passed :- i) an Hons. examination in Oriental Classical Language or Modern Indian Lanuage from this University and the Matriculation Examination from the Board of School Education Haryana; OR ii) an examination recognised by the Academic Council as an equivalent to (i) above may be allowed to appear in the annual examination in the subject of English only one elective subject (other that the subject of Prabhakar exam.) at the B. A. Part- I, II, III examinations (new pattern after 10+2) of this University, provided that no candidate shall appear in more than one examination in the same academic session or appear in a higher examination unless he/she has passed the lower examination. If he fails in the Annual Examination, may be of the same year or in the Annual Examination of the following year.

b) A candidate may, while appearing in the subject of the English only at the B.A. Part-I,II or III examination, also appear in one elective subject, other than OT/ MIL in which he has already passed the Hons. examination, provided that :- i) a person who, after passing B.A. Part- I examination in full or an Examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with English as one of the compulsory/ elective subjects, qualified in Hons.

examination in an oriental classical language or a Modern Indian Language, shall be eligible to appear simultaneously in the B.A. Part II & III exams in the subjects of English and elective subject.

ii) a candidate who has already passed the examination mentioned in clause (a) (i) and subsequently appeared in the Matriculation, Senior Secondary School exam. 10+2 or B. A. part- I examination may be given credit for having passed in English, if he failed in the other subjects.

2. A person who qualified the B. A. Part- I, II & III examination in English and one elective subject as in clause I above, may be admitted to the B.A. Degree in this University, but it shall not be classified into any division.

3. The amount of examiation fee for B. A. Part - I, II & III to be paid by a candidate shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.

4. The last date for submission of forms shall be notified by the University.

5. A candidate who has passed B.A. through English only etc.

shall be considered for admission to M.A. in various subjects and B.Ed. course regular as well as of Directorate of Distance Education at par with B.A. Candidates, if otherwise eligible.

6. A candidate appearing in an examination under ordinance shall , for all puposes other than those stated in this Ordinance, be goverened by the Ordinance for the examination concerned.

45 ORDINANCE : B.A. LL.B. (HONS.) /3 YEAR COURSE SEMESTER SYSTEM, 2009

1. The duration of the course leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Laws LL.B (Hons.) shall be of three academic years (six semesters). Each year shall be divided into two semesters i.e. July to November/ December and January to April/ May. The examination shall ordinarily be held in the month of December and April /May on such dates as may be approved by the Vice- Chancellor.

2. The schedule of dates fixed in accordance with Clause- I shall be notified by the Controller of Examinations.

3. The last date by which the examination forms and fee must reach the Controller of Examinations shall be approved by the Vice- Chancellor.

4. A candidate, who fulfils the following conditions shall be eligible to seek admission in the First Semester of LL.B.(Hons.) 3 Years Course.

i) has passed an examination in B.A.(3 year) Degree Course of a recognized University with 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate.

OR ii) Possesses any other equivalent academic qualifications recognized by this University.

5. A person who has passed the Semester I or II or III or IV or V shall be eligible to join the Semester II or III or IV or V or VI respectively of the LL.B. (Hons.) 3 year Course. This is, however, subject to Clauses-12 and 13 below.

6. The examination of Semester I/II/III/IV/V/VI shall be open to a student who :- a) has passed the requisite examination as laid down above in Clause 4 and 5, as the case may be, or is covered under Clause-13 below; and b) has his name submitted to the Controller of Examinations by the HOD/Director and produces the following certificates signed by him;

i) of having good character ii) of having remained on the rolls of the Law College for the semester concerned proceedings the examination iii) of having satisfactorily performed the work of his class.

iv) of having attended not less than 75% of the lectures in each semester as also in practical training (to be counted upto the last day when the classes break up for the preparatory holidays).

7. A candidate on the rolls of the Law College or an Ex-student shall submit his application for admission to an examination on the prescribed form with the requisite certificate duly countersigned by HOD/ Director or a senior member of the teaching staff nominated by him.

8. The amount of the admission fee to be paid by a candidate for each Semester shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.

9. The medium of instructions shall be English.The medium of examination shall be English/Hindi. Question paper, however, will be supplied in English only.

10. Candidates shall be examined according to the scheme of examination and syllabus as approved by the Academic Council from time to time.

11. The minimum number of marks required to pass in each paper of LL.B.(Hons.) 3-Year Course I, II, III, IV, V and VI Semester Examination shall be 45 % in theory papers and internal assessment separately and 50% in aggregate of Semetser examination.

12. A candidate who has failed in a semester examination,or having been eligible fails to appear therein, may be allowed on the recommendation of HOD/ Director to appear/ re-appear in the examination/ paper(s), as the case may be, in accordance with clause-II. Such a candidate may be exempted from appearing in the paper(s) in which he obtained at least 50% marks.

Provided that a candidate for the LL.B.(Hons.) 3 Year Course Degree must pass the whole examintion (Semester I,II,III,IV, V and VI)within five years of his admission to the LL.B. first Semester class, failing which he will deemed to be unfit for the course and shall not be allowed to appear in the same either by attending classes again as a regular student or as an ex-student.

Note :- The candidate admitted to LL.B. ( Hons.) 3 year Course shall not be allowed to switch over to any other course, otherwise his/her candidature for LL.B. (Hons.) 3 Years Course shall be cancelled forthwith.

13.1 A candidate who has appeared and falied in a Semester Examination shall be promoted from I to II,III, to IV and V to VI Semester, subject to the provision of Clause 13.2 below :

The Vice-Chancellor may, in very exceptional cases and where he is satisfied that there are unavoidable circumstances e.g. serious 47 illness, serious calamity like death of father or mother etc. allow a candidate who having been othrwise eligible, failed to appear in the I/III/V Semester Examination or to study for the II/IV/VI Semester Examination , as the case may be, provided that an intimation to this effect accompanied by a documentary proof thereof is received in the office of the Controller of Examination through the H.O.D./ Director within 10 days of the expiry of the concerned examination.

13.2 A candidate who has failed in the Semester I & II or III, IV or V & VI shall be promoted to the III or V Semesters, as the case may be, only if he has got exemption in the papers as mentioned below :

From Semester I & II to If he has passed at least six Semester III papers of Semester I &II From Semester III & IV to If he has passed at least 13 papers of Semester V Semester I to IV including six papers of Semesters I & II and six papers of Semesters III & IV Every student of Semester I,II,III,IV,V and VI who is entitled to be promoted to LL.B. (Hons.) 3 Year Semester II,III,IV,V and VI respectively, shall submit an application on the prescribed form for fresh admission in the Semester II,III,IV,V and VI. Any such admission may be refused by the HOD/ Director on reasonable grounds.

14. The details of the practical training (Moot Court etc.) to be imparted as per syllabus and the dates will be notified by the HOD/ Director from time to time 15 Four weeks after the termination of examination or as so thereafter as is possible, the Controller of Examintions shall publish the result and issue Detailed Marks Cards.

16. The candidate who sucessfully completes the three years (Semesters I to VI) of LL.B. (Hons.) 3 Years Course will be awarded LL.B. (Hons.) 3 Year Degree.

A list of successful candidates shall be prepared on the aggregate marks obtained in Semester I toVI examination and shall be arranged in division as under :

(a) Those who obtain 60% or more marks First Division

(b) Those who obtain 50% marks or Second Division more marks but less than 60% marks

17. 49 ORDINANCE : B.A. LL.B. (HONS.) 5 YEAR COURSE SEMESTER SYSTEM, 2009

1. The duration of the course leading to the B.A. LL.B (Hons.) Degree shall be of five academic years. Each year shall be divided into two semesters i.e. July to November/ December and January to April/ May. The examination shall ordinarily be held in the month of December and April /May on such dates as may be approved by the Vice- Chancellor.

2. The schedule of dates fixed in accordance with Clause- I shall be notified by the Controller of Examinations.

3. The last date by which the examination forms and fee must reach the Controller of Examinations shall be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.

4. A candidate, who fulfils the following conditions shall be eligible to seek admission in the First Semester of B.A. LL.B.(Hons.) 5 Years Course :

i) has passed an examination in 10+2 course of a schooling recognized by the educational authority of Central or State Government with 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate.

OR ii) possesses any other equivalent academic qualifications recognized by this University. Those who have done graduation or Postgraduation shall not be eligible for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5Years Course.

EXPLANATION :

Further, a candidate seeking admission in B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)

5Year Course shall not be more than 20 years of age (as on 31st July of the concerned session). However, in case of SC/ST candidates the age should not be more than 22 years.

5. A person who has passed the Semester I or II or III or IV or V or VI or VII or VIII or IX shall be eligible to join the semester II or III or IV or V or VI or VII or VIII or IX or X respectively of the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5 years Course This is, however, subject to Clauses-12 and 13 below.

6. The examination of Semester I/II/III/IV/V/VI/VII/VIII/IX/X shall be open to a student who :- i) has passed the requisite examination as laid down above in Clause 4 and 5, as the case may be, or is covered under Clause-13 below;

and ii) has his name submitted to the Controller of Examinations by the HOD/Director and produces the following certificates signed by him;

50 a) of having good character b) of having remained on the rolls of the Law College for the semester concerned precedings the examination;

c) of having satisfactorily performed the work of his class.

d) of having attended not less than 75% of the lectures in each semester as also in practical training ( to be counted upto the last day when the classes break up for the preparatory holidays).

7. A candidate on the rolls of the Law College or an Ex-student shall submit his application for admission to an examination on the prescribed form with the requisite certificate duly countersigned by HOD/ Director or a senior member of the teaching staff nominated by him.

8. The amount of admission fee to be paid by a candidate for each Semester shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.

9. The medium of instruction and examination shall be English only.

10. Candidates shall be examined according to the scheme of examination and syllabus as approved by the Academic Council from time to time.

11. The minimum number of marks required to pass in each paper of B.A. LL.B. I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X Semester Examination shall be 45% in theory papers and internal assessment separately and 50% in aggregate of Semester examination.

12. A candidate who has failed in a semester examination,or having been eligible fails to appear there in, may be allowed on the recommendation of HOD/ Director to appear/ re-appear in the examination/ paper(s), as the case may be, in accordance with Clause-II. Such a candidate may be exempted from appearing in the paper(s) in which he obtains at least 50% marks .

Provided that a candidate for the B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) 5 Year Degree must pass the whole examination (Semester I,II,III,IV, V,VI,VII,VIII,IX and X within Seven years of his admission to the B.A. LL.B. first Semester class, failing which he will be deemed to be unfit for the course and shall not be allowed to appear in the same either by attending classes again as a regular student or as an ex-student.

Note :- The candidate admitted to B.A. LL.B. ( Hons.) 5 year Course shall not be allowed to switch over to any other course, otherwise his candidature for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5 Years Course shall be cancelled forthwith.

13.1 A candidate who has appeared and failed in a Semester Examination shall be promoted from I to II,III, to IV and V to VI, VII to VIII 51 and IX to X Semester, subject to the provision of Clause 13.2 :

The Vice-Chancellor may, in very exceptional cases and where he is satisfied that there are unavoidable circumstances e.g. serious illness, serious calamity like death of father or mother etc. allow a candidate who having been otherwise eligible, failed to appear in I//III/V/VII/IX Semester Examination, or to study for the II/IV/ VI/VIII/X Semester Examination, as the case may be, provided that an intimation to this effect accompanied by a documentary proof thereof is received in the office of the Controller of Examinations through the H.O.D./ Director within 10 days of the expiry of the concerned examination.

13.2 A candidate who has failed in the Semester I & II or III & IV or V& VI or VII & VIII shall be promoted to the III,V,VII, IX Semesters, as the case may be, only if he has got exemption in the papers as mentioned below :

From Semester I & II to If he has passed at least six Semester III papers of Semester I &II From Semester III & IV to If he has passed at least 13 papers of Semester V Semester I to IV including six papers of Semesters I & II and six papers of Semesters III & IV From Semester V & VI to If he has passed all the papers of Semester -VII Semester-I & II, 13 papers of Semester III to VI including six papers of Semester V & VI From Semester VII & VIII to If he has passed all the papers of Semester IX Semester I to IV, 13 papers of including six Semester V &VIII and six papers of Semesters VII & VIII Every student of Semester I,II,III,IV,V,VI,VII,VIII and IX who is entitled to be promoted to B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5 Year Semester II,III,IV,V,VI,VII,VIII,IX and X respectively, shall submit an application on the prescribed form for fresh admission to the Semester II,III,IV,V,VI,VII,VIII, IX and X. Any such admission may be refused by the HOD/ Director on reasonable grounds.

14. The details of the practical training (Moot Court etc.) to be imparted as per syllabus and the dates will be notified by the HOD/ Director from time to time 15 Four weeks after the termination of examination or as so thereafter as is possible, the Controller of Examintions shall publish the result and issue Detailed Marks Cards.

16. The candidate who sucessfully completes the five yaers ( Semesters I to X) of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5 Years Course will be awarded B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5 Year Degree.

A list of successful candidates shall be prepared on the aggregate marks obtained in Semester V.VI,VII, VIII, IX and X examination and shall be arranged in division as under :

(a) Those who obtain 60% or more mark First Division

(b) Those who obtain 50% marks or Second Division more marks but less than 60% marks

17. Notwithstanding the integrated nature of this course, which is spread over more than one academic year, the Ordinance in force at the time a student joins the course shall hold good only for the examination held during or at the end of the academic year and nothing in this Ordinance shall be deemed to debar the University from amending the Ordinance and the amended ordinance, if any, shall unless specified otherwise, apply to all students whether old or new.

53 ORDINANCE : BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAMME

1. The duration of the Bachelor of Business Administration Programme (BBA) shall be three academic years. Each year shall be divided into two semesters. Thus BBA Programme shall comprise of six semesters spread over three years. Each semester shall have atleast 90 teaching days . On the completion of all the six semesters, the students will be awarded the Bacheler’s Degree in Business Administration. A candidate can complete all the six semesters within a maximum period of 6 years, thus the maximum duration of the BBA programme shall be 6 years

2. The examination for the first, third and fifth semesters shall ordinarily be held in the month of December/January and for the second, fourth and sixth semesters in the month of May/June or on such dates as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor.

A Special examintion for the sixth semester may be held, as per the decision taken by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time. The Vice- Chancellor on the recommnedation of the Principal will allow the candidate(s) to appear in his examination in the month of September/ October.

3. The last date for receipt of admission forms and fee shall be as notified by the Controller
