(1) If the owner or occupier, as the case may be, fails to comply with the directions issued by the Director or any officer authorised by him in this behalf, the fire safety certificate or renewal of fi re safety cer t i ficate issued under sections 19 and 20, may be cancelled by the issuing authority after giving an opportunity of hearing to the owner or occupier.

(2) The owner or occupier of the building, whose fire safety certificate has been cancelled, shall not be entitled to occupy the building or premises on the ground of noncompliance of fire prevention and life safety measures.
