Section 67: Filling of casual vacancies

Election to fill a vacancy shall be conducted and completed within six months from the date of occurrence of the vacancy in the manner prescribed in these rules for a general election and the programme of the election shall be framed as soon as may be convenient and the electoral roll in force under the provisions of rule 11 or 12, as the case may be, shall be deemed to be the roll for the purpose of holding the election:

Provided that no election shall be held to fill a casual vacancy occuring within six months prior to the holding of a general election.
