422 AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT (FORESTS) Notification Chandigarh, dated 13 th September1966 No. 1886-Ft-VI (Fee)-66/3543 (.) In exercise of the power conferred by section 29 of the Indian Forest Act, 1927, and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the President of India is pleased to declared land described in the schedule below to be protected forests and the provision of chapter IV and section 68 of the said act to be applicable to them.

There as by Punjab Government Notification No.1895-Ft- VI(Sec)-66/3543, dated 13 th September, 1966, certain forest and Government wasteland mentioned in the schedule appended to the said notification, have been declared to be protected forests under section 29 of the Indian Forest Act 1927;

Now, therefore, the President of India, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 of the said act,. Is pleased to :-

(a) declare all trees standing in or upon these lands to be reserved from the date of publication of this notification in the official Gazette for the period of 30 years; and

(b) prohibit from the same date for the above period , the quarrying of stone ,the burning of lime or charcoal or the collection or subjection to any manufacturing process or the removal of any forest produce in such forest and the breaking up or the clearing of land or building or for harding cattle or for any other purpose on any land in such forests.

No. 1895-Ft-VI(Dec)-66/3544 (.) There as by Punjab Government Notification No.1895-Ft- VI(Sec)-66/3543, dated 13 th September, 1966, certain forest mentioned in the schedule appended thereto, have been declared to be ‘Protected Forests’ under section 29 of the Indian Forest Act 1927; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 and 35 of the said act,. the President of India, is pleased to make the following rules applicable to whole lands specified in the foresaid notification.

RULES

1. No person shall cut, fell or lop any tree for any purpose whatsoever or remove timber or any other forest produce.

2. No person shall herd, pasture, graze any cattle on the said land.

3. No person shall cut or remove the grass without the approval of Divisional Forest Officer on the condition in the grass is cut above ground with sickle only.

4. No person shall clear or break the land for cultivation or for any other purpose.

5. No person shall set fire to grass, trees, timber or any kind of fire on the land without taking precautions to prevent its spreading.

6. The quarrying of stones or the burning of line at places where such stone has not ordinarily been quarried or brunt prior to publication of Punjab Govt. Notification No. No. 1895-Ft- VI(Dec)-66/3544 (.) dated 13.9.1966, shall be regulated by Punjab Mine rules published vide Punjab Govt. Notification No. 4345-R, dated 3.12.1933

7. In case from the compounding the offence against the rules under section 68 of Indian Forest Act, 1927 shall be credited to Government.
