- 649 - AGRICULTURAL DEPARTMENT (FORESTS) NOTIFICATION Dated the 31 March, 1960 II. No. 2693-ft-60/2476. Whereas the Governor of the Punjab is satisfied after the due enquiry, that the regulations, restrictions and prohibitions hereinafter contained are necessary for the purpose of giving effect to the provisions to the Punjab Land Preservation, Act, 1900, the Governor of Punjab, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the said Act, is hereby pleased to prohibit the following acts for a period of 25 years with effect from the date of issue of this notification, in the areas specified in the schedule annexed to this notification, in the area specified in the schedule annexed to this notification the said areas form 1 part of the village in Mohindergarh tehsil of the Mohindergarh district, specified in the schedule annexed to the Punjab Govt. notification No. 2093 ft-60/2475 dated the 31st March

1960.

1. The clearing or browning or cultivation malkiat land not ordinarily under cultivation prior to the publication of the Punjab Government notification No. 2663-ft/60/2475 dated 31st March 1960 provided that the breaking of the land for cultivation may be permitted by the Divisional Forest Officer Hissar -- Forest Division.

2. The quarrying of stone or the burning of lime at places where such stones or lime had not ordinarily been so quarried or burnt prior to the publication of the notification except with the permission of the Deputy Commissioner of Mohindergarh district, who will consult the Divisional Forest Officer, Hissar Forest Division, before according such permission.

3. The cutting of trees or timber or the collection or removal or subjection to any manufacturing process of any forest produce other than grass, flower, fruit and honey, save for bonafied domestic or agriculture purposes, provided that the owners of the land may sell trees or timber after first obtaining a permit to do so from the Divisional Forest Officer, Hissar - - Forest Division such permit will prescribe such conditions for sale as may from time to time appear necessary in the interest of Forest Conservation.

4. The setting on fire of trees, timber or forest produce.

5. The admission, herding, pasturing or retention of sheep goats and camels provided that in cases where sickness necessitates the keeping or goat for milk, the Divisional Forest Officer, Hissar -Forest Division, may issue a permit at his discretion for the retention or a limited number of stall fed goats to be specified period.

Whereas the certain areas mentioned in the annexed schedule, are comprised within the limits of the local areas notified under section 3 of the Punjab land Preservation Act, 1900, by Punjab Government Notification No. 2693-Ft/60/2475 dated

31.3.60 and whereas in respect of the said areas the Governor of Punjab is satisfied after due enquiry, that the regulations restrictions and prohibitions hereinafter specified are necessary for the purpose of giving effect to the provisions of the said Act, the Governor Punjab, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the said Act, is pleased to prohibit the following cots for a period of 25 years with effect from the date of this notification in those areas :-

1. The cutting of trees timber or brushwood and the lopping of trees or any purpose;

provided that the Divisional Forest Officer, Hissar Forest Divisions may permit :- a) The cutting of green trees for house-building and agricultural implements, and of dry wood fro fuel and for marriage and death ceremonies by persons shown in the settlement records as entitled to do so, and b) the lopping or branches for lac and the sale of chal leaves to leather workers.

2) The collection or removal of grass for any purpose provided that the Divisional Forest Officer, Hissar -- Forest Division, may permit ;- a) the cutting or sale of ripe grass after the rainy season and b) the cutting or sale of green grass during the rainy season from such portions of the notified areas in which grass may have sufficiently been established itself.

3. The pasturing of any cattle other than sheep, goats and camels.
