(1) As soon as mav be after its establishment, every Gram Sabha shall elect from among its members nn executive committee called the Gram Panchayat (hereinafter referred to as the Panchayat). !
(2) A Panchavat shall consist of such number of members, not being less than nine or moro than fifteen, as the Deputy Commissioner may determine.
(3) In every Panchayat, two seats shall be reserved for women.
(4) If, for any reason, an election does not result In the return of the required number of aualified persons willine to take office, the Assistant Commissioner shall, as soon as possible appoint, from persons qualified to be elected, such number of persons as are necessary to make up the renuired number, and the persons so appointed shall be deemed to have been duiv elected under sub-section (7).
(5) The area of a Gram shall be divided into such number of wards and the number of members of a Panchayat to be elected from each" Constitution of Panchayats.
