Section 24: Excavations etc., for archaeological purposes

The Himachal Pradesh Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaelogical Sites and Remains Act, 1976State Act of Himachal Pradesh · Act 32 of 1976

Subject to the provisions of section 21 and save as provided in sections 22 and 23, no archaeological officer or other authority shall undertake or authorise any person to undertake, any excavation or other like operation for archaeological purposes in any area which is not a protected area except with the previous approval of the Government and in accordance with such rules or directions, if any, as the Government may make or give in this behalf.
