Section 6: Classes of porters

The Himachal Pradesh Climbing/Trekking Porters (Regulation of Employment) Act, 1977State Act of Himachal Pradesh · Act 4 of 1978

After considering the facts stated by the applicant in his application and the medical certificate issued by the qualified medical practitioner under sub-section (3) of section 5, the competent authority shall be competent to classify the applicant in any of following categories of porters and cause the name of the applicant registered in the relevant register to be maintained by him:-

(a) class `A'-to assist parties climbing/trekking any height;

(b) class `B'-to assist parties climbing/trekking heights not exceeding 19,000 feet;

(c) class `C'-to assist parties climbing/trekking heights not exceeding 13,500 feet.
