Whoever renders or attempts to render fit for human consumptions any denatured spirit or knowingly possesses any spirit so rendered or attempted to be rendered, fit for human consumption, shall be punishable with imprisonment which shall not be less than 1 [three years and with fine of three lakh rupees.]
