Section 45: Penalty for consumption of liquor in chemist’s shop

(1) If any chemist, druggist, apothecary or keeper of a dispensary, allows any liquor which has not been bonafide medicated for medicinal purposes to be consumed on his business premises by any person, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and with fine which
1. The words “fifty thousand rupees but shall not be less than five thousand rupees” substituted vide H.P. Act No. 10 of 2024.
2. The words “which may extend to one year and with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees” substituted vide H.P. Act No. 10 of 2024.
24 THE HIMACHAL PRADESH EXCISE ACT, 2011 shall not be less than two thousand rupees and which may extend to ten thousand rupees.
(2) If a person consumes any such liquor on such premises he shall be punishable with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees.
