Section 4: Offences under the Act to be cognizable

The Himachal Pradesh Gift Goods (Unlawful possession) Act. 1968State Act of Himachal Pradesh · Act 13 of 1969

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, (5 of 1898) an offence under this Act shall be a cognizable offence within the meaning of that Code.

(2) No Court below that of the Magistrate of the First Class shall try an offence under this Act.
