The Block Development Officer for the recovery of records, articles and money belonging to Gram Panchayat or District Panchayat Officer for the recovery of records 2 [and articles] belonging to Samiti or Deputy Commissioner for the recovery of records 3 [and articles] belonging to Parishad, as the case may be, shall be the Prescribed Authority for the purpose of section-144.
