On receipt of a report under sub-section (2) of section 15, the Veterinary Surgeon shall examine the livestock or birds as soon as possible and may also examine all livestock or birds which it has been in contact with or in close proximity to and for this purpose may submit any livestock or bird to any test which the Government may, by regulations, prescribe in this behalf.
