Section 1: Short title, extent, application and commencement

The Himachal Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Dependants Act, 2001State Act of Himachal Pradesh · Act 19 of 2001

(1) This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Dependants Act, 2001.

(2) It extends to the whole of Himachal Pradesh.

(3) It shall apply to all persons domiciled in the territories of Himachal Pradesh except Muslims.

(4) It shall come into force on such date3 as the State Government may, by notification, in the Official Gazette, appoint.
