Section 1: Short title, extent, 5 [application] and commencement

The Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1994State Act of Himachal Pradesh · Act 4 of 1994

(1) This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.

(2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Himachal Pradesh, except the areas administered by a municipality.

6 [(2-A) In their application to the scheduled areas in the State as referred to in clause (1) of Article 244 of the Constitution of India, the remaining provisions of this Act shall apply, subject to the provisions of Chapter VI-A of this Act.]

(3) It shall come into force on such date 7 as the Government may, by notification, appoint.
