Section 5: Power of Government to extend provisions of the Act

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 3 or section 4, the Government may, if it considers it necessary in the public interest so to do, by notification, declare that any class of establishments or persons specified therein shall not be exempted from the operation of such provisions of this Act as may be specified in the notification and that the provisions of this Act specified in such notification shall apply to such class of establishments or persons, as the case may be.

(2) Every notification issued under sub-section (1) shall, as soon as possible after it is issued, be laid before the Legislative Assembly.
