(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the members of the staff other than teachers of the University, shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University with the approval of its Board and the teachers shall be appointed by the Board on the recommendations of such Selection Committees as may be constituted under the Statutes of the University.
(2) Except in, cases otherwise provided for in the Statutes, every salaried officer and teacher of the University shall be appointed under a THE HIMACHAL PRADESH UNIVERSITIES OF AGRICULTURE, HORTICULTURE 33 AND FORESTRY ACT, 1986 written contract which shall not be inconsistent with the provisions of this Act and the Statutes of the University for the time being in force in relation to the conditions of service and such contract shall be kept with the Vice-Chancellor of the University and a copy thereof shall be furnished to the officer or teacher concerned.
(3) The procedure for selection of officers, teachers and other employees of the University, unless otherwise provided in the Act, shall be as prescribed by the Statutes.
