Section 31: Autonomous Colleges

The Himachal Pradesh University Act, 1970State Act of Himachal Pradesh · Act 17 of 1970

(l) The University may grant, in the manner prescribed in the Statutes, to a college, department or unit, which satisfied the conditions laid down in the Statutes in this behalf, the privilege of varying for the students receiving instructions in such college, department or unit, the courses of study prescribed by the University and holding examination in the course so varied and such college, department or unit shall be declared in the manner prescribed in the Statutes to be an Autonomous college.

(2) The extent to which the courses may be varied and the manner of holding examinations conducted by such college or department as the case may be shall be determined in each case by the University.
