(1) With effect from the commencement of this Act, the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961 (18 of 1961) in its application to the territory added to Himachal Pradesh under Section 5 of the Punjab Re-organization Act, 1966 (31 of 1966) shall stand repealed.
(2) Save as provided in section 4 the repeal of the said Act shall not affect anything done or any action taken thereunder.
(3) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2) no authority shall pass an order in any proceedings whether instituted before or after the commencement of this Act which is inconsistent with the provisions of this Act.

Section 1 (2).- It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 1st January, 1979.

Section 1 (2).- The provisions of this Act, shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the date, the Himachal Pradesh Village Common Lands Vesting and utilization Act, 1974 came into force.
